What steps will reproduce the problem?

Pen should not try to zoom; on "non-full screen" aspect ratios, making quick 
pen strokes (within the 250ms) causes the double tap to fire. The "missing 
strokes" are apparent in these aspect ratios; however, I suspect the reports 
are due to portrait/landscape where no zoom takes place. Making quick pen 
strokes still causes the "missing strokes" to manifest but with no zoom it is 
not obvious what is happening.

Not sure what your intentions are as far as allowing touch input to be used 
with double tap enabled, but to correct the issue with the pen (at least 
temporarily) you can just throw an additional check into HandwriterView at line 
430 for getTouchMajor != 0.0f;

Ever since the pen style history was implemented, Quill forgets it after a 
while, e.g. over night. Is this intentional or a bug (Quill v7, ThinkPad)? For 
me it would be more useful, if they where persistent.

I wish to support developement by paying for the App, so do we have to 
uninstall the free version to install the paid version? Also will we receive 
update notices with the paid version, as I do not with the free version.

This is a common problem for me:

1. I start drawing something, or handwriting a list.
2. I run out of room, and so continue writing beyond the page boundary.  (Very 
happy that I can do this.)
3. Later, when reviewing the notes, I want to move that content to a new page, 
or otherwise re-organize the content so is more logical, but there don't seem 
to be features in Quill to enable this.

I would like to see something similar to other painting and vector drawing 
applicstions:
 - Select a contiguous line object
 - Select a rectangular region of line objects (rectangle marquee)
 - Select a free-form region of line objects (lasso marquee)
 - Cut
 - Copy 
 - Paste

I'm sure there are some fancy variations and semantics to consider, but the 
above is the basic feature pattern, and would be a great addition to Quill.

I am *really* liking Quill!  Even as it's still evolving, it is a remarkably 
productive way to do free form notes and design work.  Easier to erase and undo 
than paper.  Easier to switch colors than a whiteboard.  Easier....  you get 
the picture.  :-)

Yet another feature request: it would be useful if the pages kept timestamps 
for creation and latest modification.  These could be added to the PDF exports. 
And one could sort/search/filter pages by date/time.

It would be very useful to be able to change the color of existing strokes 
afterwards, in particular to be able to highlight some parts of the notes.

This could be implemented similar to the rubout tool: instead of deleting 
strokes, one would replace the color of strokes by the currently active color.

It would be very useful, if the list of tags on the left would be sorted 
(alphabetically).  This would make it easier to find the ones that are not 
prominend in the tag cloud.

Would be nice if scroll does not move page side to side as it currently does. 
When zoomed to page width, lock side to side movement and just allow up and 
down scrolling.

Expected to be able to "scroll up" to add lines to write on. Instead, page does 
not move and forced to switch to resizing mode in order to scroll (which also 
tends to resize page as well).

Instead of zooming in or out during the pinch, it draws a line on one of the 
fingers. Also the quill pen doesnt do anything.

Sometimes nothing gets written if you stand your hand at the shield and you try 
to write at the same time. This normally happens if you touch with your palm on 
the screen before touching with the stylus.. Other times a straight line is 
drawn involuntarily.

1. Writing normally.... The straight  lines may also be easily reproduced  by 
tapping several times rapidly in two spots (one in an unshielded area and 
another in a shielded one.)

The expected output would be everything that happens in the palm shielded area 
to be properly. ignored.

Maybe too late as you are now at version 6, but others has stated the same:

Usually a scissor-icon means CUT (=copy and delete).

Your scissor is not cutting - it is erasing.

For this, much better understandable icon could be an ERASOR !

Anyway - Great app. - Kudos

It would be nice, if there was an "about" entry, so users can read installed 
version from inside the running app.

When exporting to full vector PDF, even ticking the "show background", the 
exported page is blank and no background is shown. This is true for all 
backgrounds for full vector A4 page .

I tried v8.1 and app is really wonderful. Some issues I have noticed:

1. Couldn't exit properly. Always springs back to app.
2. Due to this reason (I guess) pen history doesn't save.

Currently you have to change thickness and the color by the menu each time. It 
would be nice to add e.g. 3 favorite "pen configurations" to the main tool bar

just wanted to thank you for a fantastic app! Quill alone is reason enough to 
buy a tablet :)

Quill (awesome app, btw) on my Thinkpad Tablet used to work much better before 
today's update (8.6). Can you make the pressure sensitive pen optional? 
Apparently it works much better without it for my application (mainly note 
taking, no drawing at all).

I installed the app on my samsung 10.1 N. the response is so bad, that it is 
not usefull. Even with TochScreenTune it is almaost impossible to write.

Sorry if there is but I just don't see it and think it would be a much needed 
addition if it isn't already implemented.

It would really really awesome if we could have cut/copy/paste functionality. 
It would be a lot easier then to insert text in the middle.

When selecting the colour chooser on the HTC Flyer in portrait mode it only 
shows the large area in the middle with a single colour available.  

The pane on the right hand side that lets you choose different colours is only 
visible when the device is in landscape mode.

If you create a tag that is typed incorrectly or not used a feature to remove 
tags would be nice. I did find that you could purge you data and that would 
remove the tags but you remove your notes as well.

I would be very excited if functionality for buttons on the pen was added. One 
button should default to the eraser, maybe other is configurable for pen/pencil

It would be nice features:
- Importing images (resizeable import). PNG and SVG are interesting. CAD plots 
would be really amazing.
- Text Input*. As Text Boxes better than page aligned text.
- I support the previous suggestion about Copy & Paste features ;-)

*.- Well, it sounds a bit strange for a handwriting application that Text Input 
should be useful, but I think that my major use will be handwriting diagrams or 
plots (lines and so) and filling them with ascii text boxes (more dense and 
comprehensive than handwriten text).

Quill is very enjoyable; I'm also using Thinkpad Tablet, and the digital pen 
features are absolutely PERFECT!. 

(Yeah! I found the undocumented '2-finger double-(double-tap)' for 
full-page-size-and-center view ;-D)

Maybe in the future, this may be the best note taking tool ever for Android. 
Keep going on, this is a GREAT job, indeed.

Actually this not an issue, but is there any idea of implementing some

The current line smoothing produces a lot of sharp corners.  Especially when 
drawing fast.  I would love to see a way to set some higher smoothing options.

I know you just created a notebook system but I thought tags were like 
notebooks so I was thinking if you could somehow make a way so we can transfer 
notes from one notebook to another so those of us who already have a bunch of 
notes can easily transfer them over.

I don't care what method you do this but it should be possible somehow. I 
notice that I can already select multiple notes when I hold down onto a note 
but there is not anything I can do with it (there's just a green done button on 
the top left corner, usually there is a copy and paste option on the top right 
in some other apps). Another way I can think of is if you can make some way to 
import notes into the new notebook like when you export a note then import it 
back somehow.

I know that you probably have this next on your road map but I just wanted to 
make sure. I love your work, keep it up.
