schaufel's Issues

Distinguish between data-sources

Let's assume we have:

Multiple Servers
Multiple Drives (Internal and External)
Multiple Folders

Each could be titled as a 'Location' and each Location could be added to a specific index

Index Offline Data

If a User has an external Hard Drive and data from the drive is added to the index, the program should be able to detect that the drive is offline:

  • Mark the results as unavailable
  • Disallow re-indexing
  • Delete the Directory/Drive

Multi Index

Let's assume we have 2 Servers, each with multiple hard drives and each drive containing multiple folders with different contents (books, music, videos, photos)

Cases:

  1. We want to be able to create an index for each machine
  2. We want to be able to assign a content category (music or photos) to each category
  • Index-Management should be present in the WebUI
  • Users schould be able to choose which Index to search ( <Dropdown?> )
  • Users should be able to add new directories and decide the index to merge
  • Users should be able to re-index each directory seperately

Todo:

  • Implement the Server-Side Code for allowing multiple indexes
  • Edit the HTML Template to include multiple indexes (if >1)
  • Edit the HTML Template to List indexes and add directories for mapping.
