Sounds reasonable. There are two problems:
a) I'm getting errors when I run the existing test:
ERROR: test_settings_error (djangorecipe.tests.TestTestScript)
AttributeError: 'file' object attribute 'write' is read-only
Roland, does this ring a bell for you?
b) We probably need to test your change. I'll see if I can talk to Roland tomorrow about this.

The tests are running again. There was a problem with mocking sys.stderr.write.
Thank you for your input. I'll look into Django 1.4 and django recipe some more this week.

I merged your pull request #54, but it raises two test errors. I thought travis would warn us about that, but apparently we need to configure it a bit more for that.

Yeah, I got the tests to run again. And I released it as 1.3: http://pypi.python.org/pypi/djangorecipe/1.3

Well, there are more. setup_environ() is also deprecated/removed.
We need to look at wsgi.py, test.py.
I've started a django1.5 branch, but I couldn't get it to work yet. The tests keep failing.
