IDE Toolbar colors don't get restored on uninstall

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. From the IDE: Component -> Install Package... -> Browse to and select
DelphiIDEColorizerXE2.bpl -> OK. (IDE color changes to theme selected in the
*.ini file, even before pressing the final OK)
2. From the IDE: Component -> Install Packages... -> select the
DelphiIDEColorizerXE2.bpl from the "Design packages" list, and click Remove ->
Yes -> OK. (IDE theme colors remain)
3. Restart IDE, colors gone except on the toolbars.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected the default IDE colors to return when the *.bpl is uninstalled.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Delphi XE2 Update 4, Windows 7 Ultimate x64, IDE Theme Editor 1.1.21.5

Please provide any additional information below.
I cannot get the default IDE toolbar colors to come back, so it appears I'm
stuck with themed toolbars.

Suggestion: Allow HEX edit of color value

It is very annoying not being able to edit the color in hex, as that would
simplify copying theme colors from other systems where color is stored as hex.

Button to Delete theme

This is not an issue. Much more like a feature request.
I would like a button to delete (send to recycle bin) a current selected theme.

Sometimes will be there a theme that I am not using, doesn't like or even that
I've mis-created (if this word doesn't exist, I am miscreating it now :)

DIC - DIC expert is loaded into debugged program, causing VCL BPLs to be loaded in (eg) a FMX program, causing deadlocks

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install DIC 0.1.61 in XE4
2. Create a new FMX 3D application with a 3D form
3. Turn on runtime packages in the new project
4. Run.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: the FMX app runs as normal
Observed: about 50% of the time, the app window won't show. Pausing the process
shows two threads deadlocked in unit initialization, each calling
OleInitialize, the first (main thread) from Fmx.Platform.Win; the second thread
in Vc.Controls. Note that no VCL units or BPLs are referenced in the project
or project file or are seen when using Dependency Walker to examine the DLLs
required by the project.
I examined the DLLs loaded by the process (looking at the Module Load entries
in the Event Log when you start the app) and saw some VCL BPLS, and just before
them the DIC expert. I couldn't figure out how to uninstall it (the installer
only reinstalls) but removing the entry from the registry BDS\11.0\Experts
section stopped it being loaded into the IDE and so also into the debugged
process, and after that no VCL BPLs are loaded as the process starts and so no
deadlock occurs.

Using default theme on Delphi 7 (or 5) show very small font.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Make sure you are using Default fonts and colors in Delphi 7 (or 5)
2.Open Delphi IDE Theme Editor
3.Click on Delphi 7 and look. (:

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to see Corrier New 10pt applied to styles; Instead, seeing Global
Editor Font as " " (empty) and size 1.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.0.147

Please provide any additional information below.
I think that this is caused by Delphi not saving the font name and size if I am
using the default one. If it is that, you could put the default "Corrier New
10pt" values when nothing is found in Registry.

Import current IDE settings on first run

It is easy to overwrite your current (and perhaps modified) settings.
If you do, you have no way of recovering them.

On first run - DITE should import the current IDE Settings and automatically
save them as "Your initial (Delphi Version) settings (Date)" for each IDE you
have installed.

Resizing is not pretty

Resizing DITE may give some suboptimal results.
Basically the tool is designed with one size in mind, so resizing should be
switched off. Maximizing the window for example really does not use the given
space nicely. The color selector just sits where it was created and stays
there...over the editor-view, or when the size is reduced only half of it is
visible while covering the nice buttons in the lower right of the window (see
first attachment).
While disallowing resizing is the fast way to fix this, I would vote for a more
dynamic color tool. When maximized there seems to be enough room for the color
tool on top of the editor-view. Just for a general idea check my second
attachment.

Difficult usability

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1.As an example please select bold font text attribute
2.Click on any element in the source window
3.Every selected text will be bold

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The problem is that you can't see the configuration before selecting the
element. If an element has bold font and I select this element by a click (or
the element dropdown box) the program should display the text attribute bold.
Instead the text attribute is changed to normal.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.2.2.1 win7 64bit

Please provide any additional information below.

The other text attributes and defaults for foreground and background are
immediately changed by selecting another element eihter by selecting or using
the dropdown. The foreground and background colors are not changed in this way.
I understand this behaviour as a very quick change mode without color change,
but you can't get the values before selecting an element.

Solution.

Maybe you can add a switch for edit or display mode or take defaults for
foreground and background out of this quick change mode and display it like the
colors which are not changed by selecting other elements.

Thanks for this really good tool.

DIC - Reduce the number of theme colours

This is a feature request, not a bug.

DIC seems to generate themes from a single colour (by default) - so you choose
a colour from the combo and it generates a theme from it. This colour
generation works well!

The problem is there are /so many/ colours and so many are similar, so from a
UI point of view, where all you want to do is apply a pleasing theme, it's
confusing. You can't remember which colour you liked.

What I'd suggest is changing the UI to have a combo with a few (three to five)
presets for visually really nice themes - I'd say one dark, one based on
AntiqueWhite, one pale green like VS2003, one blue like Office2003. Then have
a Custom... item, and when you choose that one you can select from the large
range of colours.

In addition, could you change the theme it first uses when installed? It's
visually very jarring (bright strong green) and my initial reaction was to turn
it off - as in turn off the plugin. If you change it to a subtle theme, with
gentle colours, people may like their initial experience more.

DIC - Some elements unthemed on initial startup

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install DIC for RAD Studio XE4
2. Start XE4 and it will open with the default theme (greenish)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: All elements of the IDE are coloured by the theme.
Observed: the following elements are not drawn correctly:
a) The Layout combo box - it has large white edges and the dropdown butotn is
white too
b) The Object Inspector's main are is drawn white, not green, unlike (say) the
Structure view
c) The Breakpoint List's toolbar is drawn normally (grey), its main area is
white like the OI, and when tabbed with other windows such as the Event List,
the tabs are drawn normally too.

Note that some of these elements seem to be themed when applying a theme later
on - it's only on startup that there's this problem. Eg, the OI background
stays white, but the tabs draw themed when a theme is applied.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
RAD Studio XE4 Pro
The first beta of DIC
Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit

Please provide any additional information below.
 - A screenshot is attached of what I saw when I started XE4 straight after installing DIC.

feature - change font for Delphi IDE forms (inspector, project manager, structure, etc...)

really needed to be able to increase font size for IDE forms like inspector and
tool palette. I have a very wide screen and I use high resolution 1920x1080 and
everything look too small

windows dpi does not affect the font size and stay small on win 7 while on win
xp the text half is cut off on dbi 150% because in inspector form the grid does
not scale !

thanks

DITE will not load if Delphi not installed, but Lazarus installed.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Lazarus on computer without installing Delphi.
2. Run DITE.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expect DITE to open and display options to change Lazarus IDE settings.
DITE states that Delphi is not installed and aborts; therefore cannot use DITE
to modify Lazarus IDE.

Latest version of DITE on Windows 7
