I'm thinking if it could run on its own or arduino, using a doorbell cable to provide power, because I observed 5V above it.

Great project! This was the only information I could find about converting a fermax vds feed into digital, I’m trying to do something similar, my intercom receiver doesn’t have a video Input, but the wire is there and there is a camera on the buildings intercom, my idea is to convert that signal to digital and either send it via WiFi to a mobile device, or simply make a custom display for it, did you connect the vds wires directly to the usb vídeo card? If so what capture card did you use? I couldn’t quite see the model in the picture.

Hello, I am interested in doing a similar task for the door opening component.
Is the door open command sent via the data bus? how do you learn what the command/bits are, and are they cycled?

I'm thinking to do the same on my door system (version: Comelit 4600w). But I'm struggling with the video feed. The Comelit 4600w also have a coaxial video cable, but when I wired it to my easyCap capture device I don't have a signal (always blank). Do you have any recommendation? Could be related to some missing software setting or hardware?

For now, I'm trying to get the video feed on my windows computer just to test it, then I'm thinking to use the Pi.
