• Install CableReady
• Change as much Javascript code to Ruby (using CableReady) for the admin chat
• This will require to set up a different ActionCable Channel that's only for the admin

Make the Admin chat send messages using StimulusReflex instead of custom JS

Create a demo app and host it on Heroku so it's easy to try the gem

To prevent security issues, encrypt the messages before saving them in the DB

Currently we have only one ChatChannel, we'd like to split it in two, so we continue to support JSON messages for the JSON API but the Admin site start receiving DOM updates from Ruby

Instead of providing the JS as part of the asset pipeline, move all the JS into a javascript folder in the root path which will be packed and served through npm

As per Open Source improvements, GitHub project should be used to professionalize maintenance.

I think there are some classes/modules in ActiveAdminChat that are not correctly namespaced with a module ActiveAdminChat . Check it and correct it if needed

• Install Webpacker https://github.com/rails/webpacker/blob/master/docs/engines.md
• Migrate all JS to be served using Webpacker

Check out the JS left and see if it's possible to remove it by doing it in Ruby/Stimulus/StimulusReflex

Install latest version of StimulusReflex and make sure to upgrade dependencies (e.g. Rails 6+)
