drive-uploader's Issues

Failure to upload some files

I find certain files consistently fail to upload.

One example here is el-ultimo-bandoneon.mpg, size 1.41 GB (1,524,555,776 bytes) .

Other examples are smaller.

I can see no pattern as to which files fails and shich succeed, but the failure is so far 100% reproducible for certain files.

Note:
Drive max. file size is 5Gb: https://archive.is/fg0uO
My Drive does have enough free space.

Trips up on a file that returns Input/Output error on read.

Apparently I have a file on a file system that can not be read. Attempting to fetch the file content ends with Input/Output error.

This file confuses drive-uploader - it bombs out with an exception and is apparently unable to proceed. At least, it seems to be waiting indefinitely.

limitation to file size and original create date and time of file

Today I tried your program and really liked it. Thank you for the effort. I found the following two issues at this point.

  1. There seemed to a limitation to the file size. Any file larger than 30 MB couldn't be uploaded.
  2. The original create date and time of a file can't be kept. For example, a picture taken in 2008 was changed to the uploaded year of 2015. With more than 10,000 pictures taken in the past 20 years, this was really a mess with no proper original create dates for them.

Can you please remove the limitation to the file size and add a function to keep the original create date and time. Thank you so much.

Regards,

Tom

Delete local file after upload

It would be AWESOME! if its possible to add an option do automatically delete a local file after upload!
I'm pritty sure there might be quite some people who are looking for that.. Just test it:

Delete file after upload
Delete local file after google drive upload
Auto delete local file after upload

That should give you some results...

Logging of failed files?

Hey roikku:
Love the app but running into a problem on a large directory where 2 files do not upload. Is there a way to see a log or find our WHICH files were not transferred? It would even help to just output the path and filename as the error occurs. Then at least one can check what the problem may be with the specific file(s). Thanks, Arthur.
