History is basically the study of the past. It tells us about the events and incidents that took place in the past.
Heritage refers to a thing that is passed down or acquired by a predecessor(পূর্বসূরীর). হেরিটেজ বলতে এমন একটি জিনিসকে বোঝায় যা পূর্বসূরীর দ্বারা প্রেরণ বা অর্জিত হয়।

According to Muslim religious stories, Hazrat Nuh (a.s.) had a son Ham and Ham's son Hind had 4 sons respectively 1. Purab, 2. Bong (Bong), 3. Deacon, 4. Nahrawal.
Hind's 2nd son 'Bang' (Bong) settled in the eastern part of the subcontinent, the settlement or abode of the descendants of Bong was called 'Banga' i.e. the abode of the descendants of Bong was known as 'Banga'.

The first mention of the name Banga is found in the book 'Aitareya Aranyaka' written by the historical sage in the 5th century BC.
In the pre-Muslim era, the use of Bangla or Bengali in a broad sense is not found. At that time Bangal or Bengal was referring to a particular part of Bengal.
বঙ্গ নামের প্রথম উল্লেখ পাওয়া যায় খ্রিস্টপূর্ব ৫ম শতাব্দীতে ঐতিহাসিক ঋষি রচিত 'ঐতরেয় আরণ্যক' গ্রন্থে।
প্রাক-মুসলিম যুগে ব্যাপক অর্থে বাংলা বা বাংলা ভাষার ব্যবহার পাওয়া যায় না। সেই সময় বাঙ্গাল বা বঙ্গ বলতে বাংলার একটি বিশেষ অংশকে বোঝানো হতো।

According to the historian Abul Fazl, the rulers of ancient Bengal used to build 10 yards high and 20 yards wide Al or Dam to prevent floods. The country was named Bengal by combining Bengal with Al. Later evolved into Bengali.

The Mughals added more territories, including Bihar and Orissa (now states of India), to constitute Suba Bangalah, which the British colonial administration later called the Bengal Presidency. East Bengal was renamed East Pakistan in 1956, and in 1971 it became Bangladesh.
