I want to know when WineScore has no connection to the internet (especially at startup).

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Users should be informed about the background activity when more wines are loaded from the server (in infinite scrolling).

Add an activity indicator. Cheapest and fastest way is an overlay activity indicator (not so user-friendly). Best way would be to add the activity indicator at the end of the list.
