gym-2048

Open AI gym environment for the game 2048 and agents to play it.

Getting Started

This project contains an Open AI gym environment for the game 2048 (in directory gym-2048) and some agents and tools to learn to play it.

  • train_keras_network.py - Trains a deep neural network to play from SL data
  • gather_training_data.py - records training data to train neural network from in CSV form

Other training_data files are for manipulating the training data.

Prerequisites

What things you need to install the software and how to install them

For gym environment:

gym
numpy

For agents and recording training data:

pygame
tensorflow

For running tests:

pytest

Installing

You can get set up to develop this project with:

python setup.py develop

Running the tests

You can run the unit tests for this project by running:

py.test

gym-2048's Issues

Python3.x Support

Noticed that this is a Python 2 bound solution. Is there any plans for supporting Python3.x?
Realistically we should be moving away from Python2 by now, all the libraries that I can think of which would be of use have 3.x variants.

Package can't be installed

Actually we may install gym_2048 via python setup.py install, but we can't import it, as there's something missing in setup.py.

combine function not working properly

Hi Thanks again for your project ! It really help us for our machine learning project ! Though, I think I catched an unexpected mistake in your combine function

When I try
combine([2, 2, 0, 8])

The output is
Out[5]: ([4, 0, 8, 0], 4)

instead of
Out[5]: ([4, 8, 0, 0], 4)

How to run the training on GPU ?

Hi,
When I use a tensorflow-gpu environment, despite CUDA, cuDNN and some operations involve the GPU,
The training is executed on CPU.

Is there a way to force it in GPU ?

Regards
