The README, CONTRIBUTING, and issues in this repo seem directed toward resBazAZ the organization as a whole, but the code in this repo is to build the website. Suggestions:

• rename this repo something like resbaz-website
• create and pin a resbazaz/resbazaz repo to hold organization level stuff
• move Global Sprint issues to resbazaz repo
• move appropriate parts of README and CONTRIBUTING, code_of_conduct, etc. to resbazaz repo
• edit README and CONTRIBUTING in this repo to focus on instructions on how to build and edit the jekyll site.

Just some ideas from a naive newcomer's perspective.

Membership on the team page could use an update. Probably easiest to accomplish this by updating data in the members.yml file in the _data folder.

Apparently there is a 2018 attempt here: https://github.com/resbazaz/resbazaz.github.io

Currently it redirects to https://arizona.researchbazaar.org which then redirects to https://researchbazaar.arizona.edu/resbaz/resbazTucson2023/ which returns a 404.

Instead of a bunch of links at the bottom of the "Events" page, have a navbar item "Festivals" or "Past Festivals" that is a drop-down. There are examples here: https://quarto.org/docs/websites/website-navigation.html#hybrid-navigation

I think the issue is that the 2018 page wasn't a singular markdown file.
I'm going to draft a qmd with the info from https://resbaz.arizona.edu/resbaz2018/tucson/#schedule

For Day 1 and Day 2 (June 1st & June 2nd), ResBazAZ is partnering with CyVerse's Atmosphere and The University of Arizona Libraries for several projects!

• Atmosphere project(s): TBA. Stay tuned!

• University of Arizona Libraries projects:

  • Data Rescue Event
  • Women's Hackathon

• Add information about PhTea/HackyHour/Shut-up-and-Write
• Add more information about participants and what we do/research
• Add resources to meetups (Pythonistas, Tucson Data Science) and twitter

This page should:

1. Recognize who has helped us
2. Give people a sense for who to expect when they show up for the first time to one of our weekly events

It might be good to have a general description of an unconference (sign up to present before, or on the day of) as well as the specific events (what is a BoF session?).

The Talk To Us botton position in the "Who We Are" section is aligned with the teamSubheading text (found on line 78 of https://github.com/resbazaz/studyGroup/blob/gh-pages/_data/en.yml)

Should include:

• A calendar
  • Would be nice to use something like https://observablehq.com/@alex-r-bigelow/gantt-chart-calendar instead of just embedding a google spreadsheet
• Maps for in-person events and links to virtual ones, like last year's multi-site widget

The README and/or CONTRIBUTING.md are missing guidance on how to add content to and build the website hosted in this repo. Would be nice to have example code to preview it locally so that people could test their contributions.

Previous resbaz festivals are listed but there isn't a small blurb on the annual conference. I would think it would go between "Hacky Hour" and "Related community events".

The bios for Jaime Yazzie and Valeria Pfeifer have images and font awesome icons stacked. The font awesome icons need to be removed.
