Description

  • This is a web app that can be used for Flight Booking and Management.
  • EaglesFlight is hosted on Heroku
  • It's a Flight management system for flight bookings, information and payments.
  • It can be used by both Registered and Unregistered users.

Features

  • When you visit the page you can you can either choose to Register/Login or not.
  • When on page you can choose location and destination of flight.
  • A page containing available flights to your destination will be displayed to you.
  • You can then choose your preferred flight provider.
  • Now you can book a flight, by registering your name and ID number.
  • The cost of flight is displayed to you.
  • Click the Pay button to be directed to the Paypal payment system, where you can then pay for the flight.
  • After payment your ticket is displayed to you, and sent to your email.

More Info

  • You can also book a flight for up to 5 people at once.
  • You can also cancel or postpone your flight, before flight date.
  • As a registered user your Flight booking details are saved for you for future references.

  • This web app was built using Rails framework.
  • Omniauth for Authentication
  • Bcrypt for Password security
  • RSpec for testing.

Usage

  • Install Ruby
  • Install Rails
  • Install Rails
  • Install Rspec
  • Install Bundler

RubyGems is a package management framework for Ruby and bundler is a ruby gem that helps to manage other external dependencies in a rails application.

Once you have a copy of this project and it's dependencies installed, you are good to go. run bundle to install all the required external dependencies.

$ bundle install

To view the project in a web browser, you need to get the rails server up and running. Run rails server from the terminal and browse to the generated link from a web browser.

$ rails s

Running the Tests

If you have followed the steps outlined earlier, then you can run the tests for the project. You can run all tests from the terminal with this command:

$ rspec spec

If you need more specific tests, then specify the absolute path to the spec file. Example for booking_controller spec:

$ rspec spec/controllers/booking_controller_spec.rb

If you want the tests to read more like a document then pass in these options to the rspec command:

$ rspec spec --format doc
