WiFi AP and Client

Hello there,

i have an instance of raspap running on Rasbian, it works good so far. Now iam trying to create alomst the same via your Docker Container.

  1. I have an additional WiFi USB Device (its working on the other instance)
  2. wlan0 should be WiFi Client
  3. wlan1 should be WiFi AP

I am not able to rescan for WiFi Networks in Raspap-Docker.
Both devices are connected to my Homenetwork with differnt IPs.
When i start the AP on wlan1 it creates the AP and im able to connect but without Internet connection.

Is there something on Rasbian i need to change?

Problems having access to internet

Good afternoon.

First of all I'd like to thank you in advance for your support and apologies if I'm not posting the issue in the proper place, I am quite new to this.

I have installed RaspAP in a docker via docker compose but I am struggling to get internet connection. In the "Networking" section I got the following interfaces:
Captura de pantalla 2024-05-04 a las 17 11 57

I have tried everything that my limited knowledge has allowed me in order to get internet connection via "end0" (which seems to be my eth0).

I got a Raspberry Pi 4, Raspberry PI OS 64 bit and I followed the installation instructions on https://docs.raspap.com/docker/ (via docker compose) as well as added the provided iptables rules (changing "eth0" for "end0")

Is anyone able to give me a hand?
Thank you.

Confusion over docker images

Hi,

Just a little confused about which docker image should be used. In the readme, it specificies that jrcichra/raspap-docker should be used, however, this project contains a Dockerfile which differs from that of the image. Would greatly appreciate some assistance! ๐Ÿ™‚

Environment Variables For Configuration

Is your feature request related to a problem?

Not specifically, I was just rebuilding my container a fair bit during experimentation and had to manually set SSID, password, and country code each time

Describe the solution you'd like

Several documented environment variables made available to set key configuration settings

Describe alternatives you've considered

Mounted files can resolve most of this, this is more of a user experience thing

Additional context

Something like Gitea's prefixed environment variables could work nicely for some of the key:value files

Create a RPi-compatible Docker image for RaspAP

Is your feature request related to a problem?

RaspAP's existing Docker container fails to start on current Raspberry Pi hosts. See #11.

Describe the solution you'd like

The Docker image needs to be refactored and brought up-to-date to make it functional with current ARMv7/8 architectures. 64- and 32-bit RPi OS bookworm and bullseye Lite distributions should be used as the reference host OS. Support for additional OS's including Debian and Ubuntu Server is desirable. Refer to this project's compatible operating systems.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Several different approaches have been proposed in #11. Start with this repo's existing implementation, build from one of these methods or go your own direction. See also #12.

Additional context

Related Docker implementations for the RPi include projects such as pihole/pihole and others.
