I'm not working on native DSD playback. I don't have any Dop or DSD DACs which makes it impossible to test. There is a patch from the daphile project http://www.daphile.com/gpl-src/00-Daphile-patches/squeezelite/ 07-native-dsd-support.patch which doesn't apply to this source tree.
I'd suggest forking the project see of you can get a working version and once tested submit a pull request. The 07 patch may depend on others in the folder. I've run into that issue in the past.

Thanks Ralph!

I took a quick look, I can see what you mean. :) Still not impossible. We'll see.

Best,

Erik

If you are interested in DSD native playback on ALSA, I'm testing some patches coming form Daphile (thanks to Kimmo).

https://github.com/marcoc1712/squeezelite-R2/tree/Play_DSD_decoded_by_Mansr_sox

For a work in progress solution.

To Convert to DSD on the fly in MS you need the mansr modified version of sox: https://github.com/mansr/sox installed, replacing the one coming with LMS.

C-3PO transcoding helper plugin on LMS will support the entire process, I'm currently working on that.

When stable and released, I'll send - as usual - the list of pathces I've found usefull to Ralphy and he will decide if apply them or not to his version ( i hope so).

Hi,

I'd be very interested in native DSD playback on arm64 platform, as my DAC doesn't support DoP. Tried to compile

https://github.com/marcoc1712/squeezelite-R2/blob/Play_DSD_decoded_by_Mansr_sox/

but am getting a build failure straight away at

output_alsa.c: In function ‘output_thread’:
output_alsa.c:707:4: error: expected expression before ‘if’

BR.

--Marius--

    if (alsa.reopen) {
    ^

Probably a platform error. Any suggestions how to fix?

@Learnincurve: Ralphy is not supporting native DSD palyback and the error you reported (solved now) comes form sources on my repository.
Please reports bugs, requests and other there and here, so we could help and not bothering Ralphy.
Marco.
