We can use async(fn) to create asynchronous decorations, but we are assuming that the method being decorated is asynchronous. We need a way to decorate the underlying method if we want todo something like perform a remote authentication synchronously.

In your example async_base is this function

 function () {
      jQuery.get('http://example.com/comedians/jseinfeld.json', {}, function (data) {
        this.name = data.name;
        this.occupation = data.occupation;
      });
    }

Call this function use

async_base.apply(this, argv.concat(decorated_callback));

async_base can't receive parameter.
Where is invoke decorated_callback?

It is not enough to pass to after decorator only value, returned by decorated function. There can bee some logic, based on arguments of decorated function.

Of course, around can be used for this, but why should we care about manually calling origin fn?

Should be something like this:

this.after =
  (decoration) ->
    (base) ->
      (argv...) ->
        decoration.apply(this, [__value__ = base.apply(this, arguments)].concat(argv))
        __value__
