Hi, thanks for the suggestion! Allowing the field would be easy enough, but getting the data reliably would be a lot of work I think. Most of the places I have automatic imports from don't have co-ordinates. Some have addresses, though not necessarily formatted consistently, and then that would mean using some geocoding service, which would be a pain. For events that I or other people submit manually it would be quite a bit of extra work to add and update co-ordinates, and I suspect people often wouldn't bother especially as they wouldn't be shown on the site anyway.
How precise locations do you want to show? Is showing a city not enough?

I'm thinking about creating another UI like tamm-kreizh.bzh or www.balfolk.nl/en/agenda/, where the events are marked on a map. For this saved coordinates are helpfull.
In the first step, while only cities are named in the events, only rough coordinates locating the cities are enough.
But if a geocoding would be done by an UI (not necessarly your UI), it could be saved and displayed with exact street.
