Installing Google Fonts

Easily install ALL of Google's Web Fonts using the following command in your terminal.

Linux and Mac users

curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/qrpike/Web-Font-Load/master/install.sh | bash

Updating

To update the fonts, just re-run this script. It will overwrite duplicates.

You may need to restart for Font Book to pick up the new fonts.

Photoshop Users

When using this script, it installs A LOT of ( ~1660 ) fonts. You may have to disable "Font Preview" in Photoshop.

Uninstall all Fonts:

curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/qrpike/Web-Font-Load/master/uninstall.sh | bash

web-font-load's Issues

Google Font GUI?

It might be advantageous to have an app floating around your computers' app directory when the Google Fonts are installed, on the basis that they are a potentially quite large "locally global" disk state mutation (and you might be liable to forget!)

Is it possible that a repo fork would be necessary? Or would a GUI Google Font management app be within the scope of this project?

Consider flattening the history of the repository

If the repo is stable at this point, could you consider flattening its history?
People on low-speed connections would definitely appreciate that.

The current repository is quite heavy for what amounts to a bunch of scripts and an image. I'm sure it's a remnant from some other time where you stored some actual fonts in the repository. The problem is, as long as they are in the repo, they still take space and make it expensive to clone and contribute to the project.

I wrote these words while still cloning (it's at 60% - 87.80MBs). ๐Ÿ˜‰

Update: 114 MBs for curl scripts sounds a bit excessive eh? ๐Ÿ˜‹

Rename repo?

I think the repo might be meaningfully renamed to download-all-google-fonts or something :)

LICENSE?

Please apply a libre license (Apache?) to this repo :)

rm: cannot remove '*.json': No such file or directory

Thanks for this handy script!

I tried it on Ubuntu 17.10 Alpha 2.

Is this rm error concerning?

This doesn't seem to work at all

As far as the Terminal goes, that seems to do as described (as shown below), however even after a restart FontBook doesn't show any more fonts than when I originally started (which is 324).

From what I can see, this isn't actually working as advertised (yet Terminal shows no errors).
