๐ŸŒŸ Core Values of Lab

Core Values Definition Positive Observable Behavior Negative Observable
Mutual Respect Mutual respect is the foundation of every interaction. We will respect all backgrounds, identities, experiences, and perspective Being respectful of colleagues's time when asking for assistance Demanding immediate help
Honesty & Integrity Our leaders lead by example and make thoughtful informed, transparent decisions. We always strive to demonstrate fairness, sincerity and accountability in the workplace. Providing well-thought-out responses to questions or stating "I don't know the answer". Providing a quick vague response that may not be accurate
Transparency Accountability & Responsibility Trust, transparency, and accountability contribute to positive workplace relationships and enhance job and performance. Explaining decisions, taking responsibility for errors, working together to achieve goals. Blaming others or making excuses. Disregarding feedback.
Communication Open and transparent communications across Our Lab is essential. In all interactions we will "always assume positive intent" to accomplish this goal. Active listening, audible speaking, sharing feedback, and respecting others by not interrupting. Interrupting others, or not responding to questions.
Collaborations & Innovation We strive to advance scientific discovery through opportunities to stimulate synergy and innovative thinking. Actively participating in journal clubs, internal groups, & informal meetings. Collaborating with other colleagues. Passively refusing to participate in activities. Collaborating only with colleagues in similar roles.
