PyVista is a helper module for the Visualization Toolkit (VTK) that wraps the VTK library through NumPy and direct array access through a variety of methods and classes. This package provides a Pythonic, well-documented interface exposing VTK's powerful visualization backend to facilitate rapid prototyping, analysis, and visual integration of spatially referenced datasets.

This module can be used for scientific plotting for presentations and research papers as well as a supporting module for other mesh 3D rendering dependent Python modules; see Connections for a list of projects that leverage PyVista.

Installation

PyVista can be installed from PyPI using pip on Python >= 3.8:

pip install pyvista

You can also visit PyPI, Anaconda, or GitHub to download the source.

GUI Unresponsive with Widgets

I have found pyvista-gui is laggy/freezes when a widget is added. It seems there is some thread locking that is occuring. Does anyone know how to fix this?:

Right click event menu

We should make a tool for adding options to a menu that will pop up when right-clicking the plotter. The right-click will be able to tell which renderer was selected and the menu could have view options like enable eye dome lighting, parallel projection, etc for just the renderer that was clicked on.

This would also be easy to expand to add your own custom methods.

"qdarkstyle" missing

I recently installed pyvista-gui and when I tried to run it, I was told

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'qdarkstyle'

pip installing it separately fixed this.

I am running python 3.8. Is this related to this fact or is this something else?

Make object tree usable

It would be awesome if we could expand the object tree to be usable such that when I use the new file drag n drop feature, it adds that mesh to the object tree
