Thumbnail URL image

Plugin for YOURLS 1.5+. Tested on YOURLS 1.7.2

Description

Allows you to get the Thumbnail URL image (long URL) by adding .i to the end of the keyword.

Installation

  1. In /user/plugins, create a new folder named thumbnail-url.
  2. Drop these files in that directory.
  3. Go to the Plugins administration page ( eg http://sho.rt/admin/plugins.php ) and activate the plugin.
  4. Have fun!

API key required

It seems that site-shot.com now requesting an api key :

{"message":"No API key found in request"}

webthumbnail.org & miniature.io not reliable anymore?

When I use this plugin, the thumbnail doesn't generate about 80% of the time. The miniature.io image shows that says either "generating picture" or "something went wrong".

Is miniature,io and webthumbnail.org no longer reliable or is there something else going on?

I noticed that it seems tha tif the thumbnail is of a popular site (ebay, amazon, etc) it seems to work with no problem. But always shows "generating picture" pic and you have to refresh the page to see the site thumbnail. But on not-so-popular sites, you first get the "generating picture" pic then when you refresh you get the "something went wrong" pic.

Incidentally, if you go to webthumbnail.org it says "This domain might be for sale." with an email address to contact. :/
