- .release/ is needed to make it possible to downgrade
- repo contains .release/ for all released versions:
- so backups of non-developer's installations should be safe without .release/ (it always can be fetched from repo)
- but backups of developer's installations in _live/ contains dirty unreleased versions, which usually should be downgraded on next

, so they will likely break if we remove .release/ from backups … any ideas how to work around this?
