powerconverters's Issues

New default bridge buffer size causes buffer to not charge.

PowerConverters version: 2.3.0B2-47

Issue: Default bridge buffer size used to be 16,000,000 according to the source. It is now 160,000,000. When set to new default, or higher, (or potentially numbers between the old and new defaults) the buffer charges a little ways, then goes into negative charge. This cycle repeats indefinitely, consuming power and sending nothing to any producers.

I changed the configuration to limit the bridge buffer back to 16,000,000 and the problem resolved.

Tested with BC Consumer attached to TE conduits and redstone energy cells.

Infinity Power using Universal Power

Using Universal Power, I was trying to convert to EU. Because EU has a much higher conversion rate, one advanced solar panel wasn't giving me any EU. I added a advanced battery box and was going to make it so it only outputs when the battery box is full, but found out when doing this, the conversion using the advanced battery box was crazy high.

Any power to the advanced battery box and then into a UE consumer to energy bridge to EU (presuming any output power) gives off a 19.7 kW output, about 109 EU/t (Not really infinity but for one solar panel and one advanced bat box you pretty much get 109 EU/t, per.). You can do this with any low power source from universal power, long as the advanced battery box is getting power.

The battery box needs to be toggled however, there is a box to the right when you are in the advanced battery box interface, if you click it, it becomes a little input plug (ill circle it in red) and that's where the problems start.

I presume the higher tiered battery boxes do it as well, but the basic battery box does not.

Power Converters EnergyBlockLink corrupted

I have had a new user on my Unleashed server with PowerConverters enabled. Several users including my self are useing them without issues.
But this user had not chunkloaded his base and when his base unloads and he returns the EU to MJ conversion stops working it will start working as soon as the entire three block bridge is removed and replaced. But as soon as the area is unloaded the cycle repeats.

I have duplicated this on a testing sever that i have away from the main gaming server. and below are the logs starting from the MystCraft portal warning that i moved wrong to the end of the error:

Below are two screen shots of the dummy system that is about 2 chunks away from the original system that original created the error. so that you can see the setup. the mass fab and redstone energy cells are there to create a constant load during the unload to see if that made a difference.

UE converters depend on Basic Components

In order for the UE converters to show up, Basic Components needs to be installed. However, Basic Components is broken in 1.5.2 and advice from the Universal Electricity folks is to remove the mod because it's been absorbed into other mods.

Allow energy stored max to be configurable

Allow energy stored max https://github.com/powercrystals/PowerConverters/blob/master/src/powercrystals/powerconverters/common/TileEntityEnergyBridge.java#L23 to be configurable.

When combined with crazy things like GregTech Fusion Reactors (32+k EU/t) this bottlenecks an energy bridge at ~8.9k EU/t.

A "better" fix for such instances (to avoid forcing everyone to use larger stored max energy) would possibly be to not restrict how much power is stored during a tick, but if at the start of a tick you are exceeding the buffer amount, don't accept any more energy in until the buffer is below the max.

pseudocode probably explains it a bit better:
updateEntity()
{
tryProduceEnergy();
if (_energyStored< _energyStoredMax)
{
consumeEnergy();
}
tryProduceEnergy();
}

rationale for doing tryProduceEnergy() twice is to avoid fluctuations every second tick, could possibly be made cleaner.

Constant IC2 draw with steam producer

Specific Setup is the following:

IC2 EV Consumer - BC Produce and Steam Producer

Works fine until i add the steam producer. Soon as thats added, it maxes out the IC2 consumer no matter the load on the steam producer.

Will do some more testing to see if its specific to one set up or if i can easily reproduce.

Steam Consumer

Hello Guys,
I'm currently using the Steam Consumer for my Boilers and I have noticed that it can only consume 100mb/t per Side. I would like it to have no or a bigger Limit per Side. Because with the 100mb/t Limits it's pretty much useless for Boilers :/ I don't know how you think about it, but it's just an enhancment I would make ^^

BC Pipe explode

On current version 2.2.2 i get a little bug.
BC-Pipes explode while feed from BC producer if the consumer of the energy is "full".
That appears in current Tekkit Lite 0.6.0 wich uses this mod.

API ERROR: powercrystals.powerconverters.power.ic2.TileEntityIndustrialCraftConsumer

Getting these errors in the server console every 5 seconds. Does not cause any crashes, but is a very annoying error.
