Add Qt to "Where to start"

One should probably emphasize that besides reaching most Linux distributions, applications written in Qt can also run natively on Windows, macOS, Android, and embedded systems without changes in the codebase.

Qt is a free and open-source widget toolkit for creating graphical user interfaces as well as cross-platform applications that run on various software and hardware platforms such as Linux, Windows, macOS, Android or embedded systems with little or no change in the underlying codebase while still being a native application with native capabilities and speed.

Add a source of "apps wish list".

I wonder why I can't find any wish list for Linux apps. It seems that the community does not recognize the lack of necessary applications for Linux.
I suppose it would be a great idea for the site to include a link to a site dedicated to publishing that is missing from the ecosystem of Linux applications.

Congratulations for this site!

Add Tauri as Electron alternative

Hi,

Just like Electron, Tauri allows web devs to make cross-platform desktop apps, but using system renderers (Webkit on Linux & Mac, Edge on Windows) instead of embedding Chrome, thus reducing package size and resources usage.

The JS API is still far from Electron's so it can't replace all use cases yet, but it's a work in progress.

Thanks

Internalization of the website

Hi, I think it would be a great idea to make the website translatable. We have a tool in KDE that helps with extracting po files from Hugo projects: https://invent.kde.org/websites/hugo-i18n but it probably still needs a place for translators to translate them (e.g weblate) and the theme will probably need to get some changes.

Would you like me to give it a try and set everything up?

Kill burger menu with fire

There's a burger menu (at least there is on Firefox and Chrome mobile browsers) at the top of the page which doesn't do anything. Best removed?

Maybe replace app example images?

VSCode, Firefox and others mentioned on the page are large.

This could discourage making an app, as many apps can be very light, small, and so on. "So this is an app. You expect me to make VSCode in a few days?"

Add AppCenter to “Sharing Your Creation”

elementary OS is a target distribution with a developer guide, but AppCenter is a build service and app store—especially with our work to move to be a Flatpak remote. It is also the only distribution method I know of with monetization built in.
