A PHP class which wraps flock()

You can use this to run jobs in the background and peek from the webserver if they are running.

Install

Via Composer

$ composer require polderknowledge/php-peek-lock

Usage

// lock the file in a job to prevent race conditions between jobs:
$lock = new PeekLock('mylockfile.txt');
$lock->blockTillLock();

// check if the job is running from the webpage
$lock = new PeekLock('mylockfile.txt');
echo 'busy? ' . ($lock->isLocked() ? 'yes' : 'no');

isLocked() will release the lock if locked by itself

llbe:
Looks like isLocked() will release the lock if locked. LOCK_EX โ†’ LOCK_SH โ†’ LOCK_UN.

Huliek:
You are right, though it is not common to check a lock which you locked in your own process.

I would have to add a boolean property "lockedBySelf" if I wanted to fix this, I suppose?

llbe:
Yes, a property should replace the need of LOCK_SH.

The issue I see is that it is not expected that isLocked() changes anything.
