baku's Introduction

Baku Project

This repo includes a project for peer-to-peer video chat with WebRTC.

The reason I made this project;

  • To learn how to inject javascript and css into an html page by configuring Webpack and PostCSS

  • Experience and understand how browsers are processing keyboard events

  • Create and run a pipeline with GitHub Actions

  • Gain the habit of project development within Visual Studio Code DevContainer

Technologies I used in this project are;

  • Typescript
  • WebPack
  • PostCSS
  • GitHub Actions
  • Docker
  • Netlify
  • DevContainers

WebRTC

With WebRTC, you can add real-time communication capabilities to your application that works on top of an open standard.

It supports video, voice, and generic data to be sent between peers, allowing developers to build powerful voice- and video-communication solutions.

The technology is available on all modern browsers as well as on native clients for all major platforms.

The technologies behind WebRTC are implemented as an open web standard and available as regular JavaScript APIs in all major browsers.

Vulnerability Details

In jQuery before 3.5.0, passing HTML from untrusted sources - even after sanitizing it - to one of jQuery's DOM manipulation methods (i.e. .html(), .append(), and others) may execute untrusted code. This problem is patched in jQuery 3.5.0.

WS-2020-0068 - Medium Severity Vulnerability

Found in HEAD commit: 5272eb7ea1e74c367ff6087b9b4c58da3711680b

Vulnerability Details

Affected versions of yargs-parser are vulnerable to prototype pollution. Arguments are not properly sanitized, allowing an attacker to modify the prototype of Object, causing the addition or modification of an existing property that will exist on all objects. Parsing the argument --foo.proto.bar baz' adds a bar property with value baz to all objects. This is only exploitable if attackers have control over the arguments being passed to yargs-parser.

Vulnerability Details

jQuery before 3.4.0, as used in Drupal, Backdrop CMS, and other products, mishandles jQuery.extend(true, {}, ...) because of Object.prototype pollution. If an unsanitized source object contained an enumerable proto property, it could extend the native Object.prototype.
