Patterns and Practices

ARCHIVED - Notice that many of the samples in this repository are for legacy add-in model. You should be using SharePoint Framework for UX layer extensibility for SharePoint and Microsoft Teams. You can find SPFx web part and SPFx extension samples from different repository. You can use Azure AD and Microsoft Teams Solution model as replacement for the provider hosted add-in model. Please see https://aka.ms/m365pnp for the up to date guidance and samples.

This is the main repository for the community driven Microsoft 365 Patterns and Practices (PnP) initiative. If you are looking for latest news around PnP or related topics, please have a look on our one pager at http://aka.ms/m365pnp.

Timeline-holidays template timeline_node.svg image not working on iPhone

Sample

timeline-holidays

Author(s)

@VesaJuvonen

What happened?

I added the timeline-holidays template to a Viva adaptive card and deployed it to our Viva dashboard. The timeline_node.svg image works fine in desktop browser, but did not display on iPhone. I found this article that says .svg files are not yet supported on quick views on mobile. SharePoint/sp-dev-docs#7541. So I converted timeline_node.svg to .png, It looks fine in desktop browser, but on iphone, the timeline_node.png image is displayed in much smaller size, and does not align vertically with the first line of text.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Add the timeline-holidays template to a card and deploy the card to viva dashboard
  2. View the card on iPhone, the timeline_node.svg image does not show up
  3. Convert timeline_node.svg to .png, re-deploy, view the card on iPhone, the timeline_node.png image does show up, but is displayed in very small size, and does not align with first line of text vertically

Expected behavior

timeline_node.svg ( or .pgn ) should work the same way in both desktop browser and on mobile

Suggestion

I would love to see a template JSON and a data JSON per sample so that it's easier to update the data in the cards.

Trying to have Adaptive Cards Sentinel to Teams, return 2 specific items back to Sentinel

Sample description

Hi,

I've starting implementing AC/Sentinel/Teams in order to handle Incidents through Teams. So far so good ;)

I've taken the standard template and changed it to my needs. The only 2 things missing is:

  1. The possibility to use the Input.Txt variable to return text to the incident about "Reason for closing"
  2. Have the user automatically extracted from the Teams form and returned to the Incident as "Owner"
    a. Alternatively have a drop-down with the possible users to choose from and then return that user to the Incident as "Owner"

This should be possible, since it's possible to change Severity and close the Incident from Teams. I have tried, and it does not seem like I have the correct field from Sentinel to send the input to.

I find it very usefull to enter this information when you close an incident from Teams, maybe even make them mandatory?

Ny code is attached as file. In this you can see my attempt to solve the above. You will also find the screen shot from Teams with the paragraph I'd like this addition to.

Looking forward to hearing from you
