co_322-maize-traits's Issues

CO_322:0000674:EN_Ct_earplnt method abbreviation in variable name does not seem to match method

Greetings.
The following variable is defined as being a calculation:
https://www.cropontology.org/terms/CO_322:0000674/EN_Ct_earplnt

It has the method:
https://www.cropontology.org/terms/CO_322:0000203/EN%20-%20Computation
http://www.cropontology.org/rdf/CO_322:0000203
with a formula:
Formula#Ears hvst / #Plts hvst

Therefore I would propose that the variable name should be:
EN_Cmp_earPlnt

Please let me know if you think that this variable name should be updated.

Problematic IDs

underscores in ID spaces can be problems. How set in stone is this? Can we change CO_322:nnn --> CO322:nnn?

What is the meaning of the 322 anyway?

maize obo file needs cleaning

-fix scale terms in "CO_322:0000630:1" format

  • assign unique IDs to terms that do not have a numeric ID e.g. "CO_322:Agronomical_traits"
  • check that the obo file loads in Protege
-check that the obo file can be loaded into panzeabase.org
-write up a workflow for editing/updating a master obo file in a way that works for all users, maybe the same as the Cassava ontology workflow?

Gramener xrefs

This is an invalid xref:

xref: Gramene Plant Trait Ontology:TO\:0000345

xrefs shouldn't have spaces. Also doubling up ID spaces is strongly discouraged.

I recommend replacing these all with the standard OBO ID, e.g.

xref: TO:0000345

Proposition for new variables

Hi,

I have some new variables/methods to propose:

  • For CO_322:0000907 (Silking time), I need to have a variable in Growing Degree Days, and currently a variable exists in days only.
  • A trait 'Total number of leaves'
  • CO_322:0000951 (Tassel size) : a variable for size in cm (exists only for 1-3 scale)
  • CO_322:0000005 (grain yield) : the variable is about "Calculate shelled grain yield per unit area adjusted to 12.5% grain moisture." but for my data, I need variable adjusted to 15% grain moisture. Could you make a variable no 'moisture specific' ?

Thank you,

Mélanie Buy
