cfg-loader's Issues

USB Auto-Mount

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. USE CFG-USB Fat version
2. Plug USB drive in
3. Start cfg-USB

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected = cfg-usb loader detects my usb drive.
Instead = cfg-usb loader starts 30-second countdown, and it doesn't see my
drive until I re-insert the drive. Also it will see it if I just insert
any time during the countdown.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
cfg49 fat. I will try 50b2 later on today.

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm using a 16GB USB flash drive. My friend is using a 120GB USB hard
drive and experiences the same issue.
It seems that cfg-usb loader needs to re-initialize the usb port so it will
recognize our drives without having to remove them.

Ocarina code handler is outdated

Can kenobiwii.h be updated to the latest version from
http://code.google.com/p/usbgecko/source/browse/#svn/trunk/Gecko_src/code%20hand
ler
?

I've found a bug in ocarina codes processing and further investigation lead
me to the point where according to the current usbgecko sources everithing
should've been just fine in my case. Then i discovered that binary code in
kenobiwii.h actualy don't match with those sources and seems somewhat
outdated... So could it be updated please? ;)

I understand this would require some fixups in other places too...
And also if there's some difficulties i don't know of that would make this
my request completely off and ridiculous ;) i'm really sorry to bother you.
I just entered here and know almost nothing related to the topic... ;)

Button to go to main menu

I m usign 51b2 version.
Actualy, for example if I want to run a dvd game, or sort the list, I need
press 1 button in the game list to access to the options of the selected
game, after I need pres 1 button again to go to the general options and
after I need select main menu option to access to the main menu to can
select sort options or boot dvd.

It whould be a good idea have a visual button (or option) in the game lisr
(or wiimote button, or both buttons) to go directly to the main menu.

USBGecko Problem

using cIOS249 r17 and 222-mload for fat support.

when usbgecko is connected and wiird is startet the loader recognizes the
gecko and says that no cheat codes found an debugging is enabled. then the
wiird could connect but gets on version command an 0x00 and after the
nintento screen is gone the gecko could not connect.

i've only tested it on final fantasy crystal bearers but will try it
tomorrow on other games too. tomorrow i will try it with the original dvd
and geckoos.

Start and install WiiWare/VC

I like to request the new feature "NAND Emulation" for WADs like uLoader
4.8/4.9 does. And of course a screen to select and start installed channels.

- Wiiware/VC games emulation

- Wiiware/VC/DLC content installer (Copy wads to sd:/nand/install or
usb:/nand/install)

- Option to redirect to x:/nand/ when seeking downloadable content (DLC)
when saves are emulated in nand2, 3 or 4

SD card not readable 249 R18

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install IOS249 R18 base 57/70
2. Run cfg-loader

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No covers or custom configs are loaded. Covers cannot be downloaded.
Anything SD related does not work. I assume the SD card is not readable...
The issue disappears when reverting to IOS249 R17. Cfg-loader is the only
affected program when using 249 R18, all other programs read/write the SD fine.

Startup without HDD

I like to see cfg-loader to startup without a HDD and if a HDD will be
plugged in it will access to it.

USB-Loader-GX has that feature and I like it a lot instead of the 30
seconds countdown of cfg-loader.
http://code.google.com/p/usbloader-gui/source/detail?r=881

Maybe it is also be possible to remove the HDD and cfg-loader shows that it
was removed?!

Improve overview in list view mode

It would be nice to see more info about the selected game when browsing
the games in list mode:

1: Show an icon if a cheat file is available on HDD for the game
2: Show icons for each controller type supported by the game

The cheat file availability could also be a part of the filtering function.

Improve handling of corrupted img files

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Lego Rock Band
2. Download covers
3. See failed corrupted image drawing and debug console output

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- Having a image placeholder like a frowny face cover or something instead
of the failed draw.
- Having a way to delete cover img files would be nice rather than having
to go in the SD card and delete them manually.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

usb/sd nand emulation

Do you think you could add support for nand emulation(like TRiiForce) It
would be so much easier to use as you would not have to use different
loaders for WiiWare and VC.
 Thanks,

wbfs_file compiles improperly on Debian

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. make

What is the expected output?

gcc -Wall -W -O -Ilibwbfs -I. -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -DLARGE_FILES
-D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64
-c wbfs.c -o wbfs.o

What do you see instead?

gcc -Wall -W -O -Ilibwbfs -I. -DLARGE_FILES -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -c wbfs.c
-o wbfs.o
wbfs.c: In function `read_wii_file':
wbfs.c:214: warning: implicit declaration of function `fseeko'
wbfs.c: In function `get_iso_info':
wbfs.c:1257: warning: implicit declaration of function `ftello'

What version of the loader are you using?
wbfs_file 2.8

Please provide any additional information below.

Based on research, _LARGEFILE_SOURCE must be defined in CFLAGS so that stdio.h
includes the
definition for fseeko/ftello. It will compile with a warning if this is not
included, but will not run
properly. (This is true for the distribution I am running under, which I think
is Debian (on
SPARC), but I am not positive.)

Is It possible to add a filename formatting in wbfs file?

I'ld like to compress iso files having the WBFS not only named with the
Id-code but with code+title (as the subdir or the txt file- Example:
R3DPS5-[Dream_Pinball_3d].wbfs) or game-title (Dream_Pinball_3d.wbfs), or
game+code (Dream_Pinball_3d-[R3DPS5]).

maybe a parameter with -Rit (-Rename: with ID-[Name]), -Rti (Rename
Name-[ID]) -Ri (only ID, actual dafault) -Rn (only Name) should be nice:
only ID is less easy to read/share as title in a list, if WBFS wants to be
the standard in wii backups..

Please add commit messages or ChangeLog

I am very interested to follow development and test certain (new/changed)
functionality, but without a disclosure what has changed between releases
it is hard to know whether I should try out a new release.

In fact, the only place to read up on what is new with a release is by
turning on your Wii and run Configurable and check the updates there. While
I would expect this website would be the ideal place to see whether there
is a reason for me to turn on my Wii and test a certain release...

Wii Freeze while loading savegame

Game: Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers PAL
Loader: 54b
Wii: 4.2e
cIOS: 222-mload rev 4 (for fat hdd), 249 rev 17 (in loader config)

In config wiird = 2, orcania = 1 (seems not to be the problem)
In game options orcania and playlog off...all other options default values.

Game starts...and when loading a savegame the wii will freeze.

By using the cfg-loader 53 loading the same savegame will work fine.

Error using NTFS Usb mass storage drive to store covers.

I have the content of "inSD" in the SD
I have covers in the directory "images" of the ntfs drive
I have games in "wbfs" directory of ntfs drive.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I use SD to start cfg-loader.
2. I extrat the SD to do that cfg-loader doen´t use it more.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: cfg-loader use ntfs drive to load images and config files.

Saw: cfg-loader can not update and can not dowload covers because it tries
save the files in the SD.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
50c in menu 4.1E with hbc, waninkoko 249 ios and hermes 222 ios.

Please provide any additional information below.

I tried use the ntfs drive as unique storage system that had homebrew apps
(cfg-loader and other apps like ftpii, hblauncher, etc), covers and wbfs
backup files, the problem is that actualy homebrew channel does not support
ntfs in usb drive (only support fat/fat32).

My alternative is launch cfg-loader dol from a small SD (like a 256 Mbs)
and only use the SD to do it, and that cfg-loader read config files,
themes, and covers from ntfs drive. A faster solution may be thar in the
global setting can you change the cfg-loader path. Now cfg-loader only show
the data and does not allow to change it.

The wbfs_file build for Mac is somewhat slow using external devices.
WBFS for Mac had the same speed issue until /dev/rdisk was implemented
instead of /dev/disk to obtain faster access:

Maybe it can be solved that way too. Thanks!

Rename vbs files to folders

I had many games before wbfs_files version 2.0, which create GAMEID_TITLE
subdirectories by default. In other words, I had many wbfs files in one
same FAT directory.
I added some lines to middle of fast_rename_move.vbs to move the wbfs files
to subdirectories and rename the other too.
I want to suggest you can improve this and add to the next wbfs_file_x.x
package.

'# ---->(there is the original lines before this)
Set f = fso.GetFolder(strParentFolder)
Set sf = f.SubFolders

'# ---->Here starts the added portion.
Set fil = f.Files
For Each arquivo in fil
    if (left(right(arquivo.name,4),3)="wbf") Then
        strNewFolder = f & "\[" & left(arquivo.name,6) & "]"
        if not fso.FolderExists(strNewFolder) Then
            Call fso.CreateFolder(strNewFolder)
        End If
        arquivo.Move (strNewFolder & "\" & arquivo.name)
    End If
Next
'# Here ends the add portion.

For Each folder in sf '# This is a fraction from original
  if (len(folder.name) >= 6) Then        '# This is a fraction from original
'# There is more lines after here from original file.

Possible improvement in the update

Check automaticaly for a new version at start it said if you want update or
dont. Like several homebrew wii utilities have (for example: homebrew brownser)
Logicaly, with its corresponding option ( 0 or 1) in the config file to do
or not do it.

Do not do a faster return to hbc

When I put the home button the loader does not prompt if I want currenly do
it only return to the homebrew channel without prompt anything.

I accidentaly pressed it several times and I did need to start the loader
again, a warning asking to continue, close or return to wii (in this case
whould be hbc) like the rest of original games will prevent an accidental
pressed home button.

Missed source code changes uploaded to SVN

Hello oggzee and DoctorClipper.

I don't know what is the meaning of SVN if you don't upload the affected
files to a new revision, beacuse if you want go back any change you don't
have the file in subversion.
Upload only the updates.txt can give to confusion in a future if anybody
will want continue the project because he will not know when go back to a
revision or not.

I suggest only upload to SVN when you want upload the source code with
changes, to mantain syncronized the SVN changes description with the real
changes made in all files of soure code.

Anywere this is not a obligation, you can do it what you want always that
you mantain this great application :D.

WBFS_file: error with -l f2 option

i've tried to convert a wii.iso file with this commands:

wbfs_file wii.iso -l f2, or
wbfs_file wii.iso .\newdir\ -l f2
wbfs_file -l f2 wii.iso
wbfs_file -lf2 wii.iso

and it exits with this message:
Using OPTION: -l : f2 (file:TITLE [ID].ext)
Converting wii.iso to .wbfs
Writing: Mario Kart Double Dash! [GM4P01].wbfs
not a wii disc: No such file or directory

leaving a "Mario Kart Double Dash! [GM4P01].wbfs.tmp" file (2.097.157 bytes)

what's wrong then?

ah... it should be nice an "overwrite" previous *.tmp files... after this
error i had to manually delete .tmp file to try again...

thx

public read only source code still Rev128, need new update

Please provide any additional information below.

There is still old source code r128 on public read only svn. No update till
Feb 24.
http://cfg-loader.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
When will you put new source code to public svn?

I want to apply an patch, home key menu, select
shutdown/unlock/exit/reboot from menu. I set auto booting cfg ul by
using priiloader while power on, and I feel its easier if cfg ul can shutdown
wii by home key menu.
