fluent-xliff's Introduction

Fluent and XLIFF experimentation

With a bridge between Fluent and XLIFF, we might be able to get some Fluent functionality into CAT tools, without actual in-tool Fluent support.

We're targeting XLIFF 2.0.

Test bed

  • two languages, different message count
  • partial existing translations
  • group comments
  • plural selector
  • placeable (foopy)
  • terms and term references
  • DATETIME builtin

fluent-xliff's Issues

To group or not to group

In the current state of the tooling, we use <group> elements for things like group comments.

On one tool, I didn't see any sign of the <note> content (group or unit), and on another only the unit notes made it through.

Maybe using groups isn't fancied?
