Hi! Very interesting project!

1. Integrating QtMarkdown into our open-source note-taking app Notes (https://github.com/nuttyartist/notes) will be very cool. But it's impossible to do so unless you provide a license. Hopefully, a permissive one (eg, MIT, Apache).
2. I want to try the examples but I'm getting these errors:

Is this a bug or a feature? I can't seem to edit a quote's content.

Scrolling isn't as smooth as QTextEdit, but I noticed QML TextEdit isn't very smooth as well, is that related to QML?

CMake Error at test/CMakeLists.txt:2 (find_package):
Could not find a package configuration file provided by "GTest" with any of
the following names:

GTestConfig.cmake
gtest-config.cmake

Add the installation prefix of "GTest" to CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH or set
"GTest_DIR" to a directory containing one of the above files. If "GTest"
provides a separate development package or SDK, be sure it has been
installed.

As you can see below

• At first, I thought it selection doesn't work but it just takes a long time until text is selected. But selection is not positions correctly where the text is.
• Double-clicking to select a line doesn't work.
• Using ctrl + A works but the selection is not positioned correctly where the text is.
• Bug: selecting all text and pressing delete causes the app to freeze.

Can it do typical column selection, editing, deleting, copying and pasting text as rectangles etc？
