Whiteboard for Online Coding Interviews

Talk About Code is a collaborative source code editor built for remote coding interviews. The minimalistic web app is easy-to-use for both the candidate and the interviewer. No preparation required - a new whiteboard is created and shared within seconds.

Less stress, no distractions and engaging code conversations!

Written in TypeScript and powered by Visual Studio Code's Monaco Editor.

Support high-contrast mode

Use a toggle button to trigger mode, e.g. material-ui icons "invert_colors" and "invert_colors_off"

Add About dialog

Add About dialog with a description, version info, link to GitHub and privacy statement.

Shorten attendee URL

Today's attendee URLs are quite long. Make it shorter to allow verbal communication of the URL.

E.g. from

to

Shorten administrator URL

The administrator URL contains the content and is quite long. Compress the content so that URL gets shortened.

Use icons instead of text buttons

Replace the button NEW, SHARE, SAVE with icons.

Implement remote highlighting

Implement remote highlighting to support discussion on specific code chunks. Could either done by marking complete lines or support of text selection.

Disable code suggestions for JavaScript and TypeScript

Disable code suggestions so that there is less distraction during an interview.
