journler's Issues

"Delete" menu item always disabled

Edit>Delete is always disabled. Also, delete key does nothing. Toolbar item and contextual menu item seem to work fine.

(Mac OS X 10.7.2)

getsprouted link

There's still a link to getsprouted in the repo description. Going there, this happens, even though the webpages on that site are basically empty:

LF1

LF2

The link should be removed imho.

Trying to open old journler entires - the app crashes everytime

Does anybody know if there is any way that I can read the contents of old entries made using this app? I have the Journler folder still on my hard drive, with a number of entries (containing .jrtfd files)

I am trying to launch the app on an old computer (Early 2015 MacBook air, Intel Core i5), High Sierra 10.13.6, but it crashes every time before I can read the entries.

I won't even think about trying on my newer M1 macs...

I have these old entries from 14 years. I would love to be able to read them!

Save Error

Hey,

I'm having a save error with Journlar after recovering the files from TimeMachine from an account I deleted.

When quitting the application I get the following Save Error message:

Save Error
Journler was unable to save the journal to it's disk based store. This may lead to data loss. Check the console logs for more information.

In Console I have the following error messages:

Thanks!

JournlerSearchManager.m Exc_bad_access (code=2, address=0x0) at line textRepresentation = [SpotlightTextContentRetriever textContentOfFileAtPath:originalPath]

When running Git source from Xcode 6.0.1, Journler stops at the line containing:

textRepresentation = [SpotlightTextContentRetriever textContentOfFileAtPath:originalPath]

The value of orginalPath = "/Library/Caches/CrashPlan"
This path is not a file but a directory.

When reading the source code of "JournlerSearchManager.m", I would think that when the resource is not (directory or ABrecord) code execution for this function stops at line "if ( !( [aResource representsFile] || [aResource representsABRecord] ) ||"

How to fix this code?
