What do you think about developing a plugin for WordPress providing openwebicons as a usable library for other plugins/themes to use?

The "Bootstrap Admin" Plugin has just changed from FontAwesome to Openwebicons due to the licensing issue I posted on #2 .

Maybe you could work together with @aristath (the developer of Bootstrap Admin).

Would be good for the spread of this awesome Icons 😀

I find myself using openwebicons to get the few social icons that Font-Awesome is missing. Unfortunately, neither have an icon for BitBucket. (BitBucket does support OAuth login, which is what I primarily want an icon for.)

Owncast is licensed under MIT by Gabe Kangas. I'm not sure if this affects the logo too.

I want this added because Owncast is opensource, self hosted, features ActivityPub and authentication via IndieAuth and Fediverse Auth.

You mention FontAwesome as not having the RSS icon, so why not create a fork (and pull request) for FontAwesome that includes your icons as well?

As these are icons and it's a font, I'd suggest using the private use area of Unicode that's set aside for cases like this, rather than actual characters such as 'A' etc.

The reason being, even though they look like icons to people viewing the web page, it's still going to get picked up by computers (search engines, screen-readers) as characters.

I just found your font yesterday and it's great to have a source for beautiful, scalable versions of common OpenWeb symbols and icons.

While further researching icon fonts today, I found the SIL page, where they are defining the "Human readable" version and visual representation of its license, with a nice set of CC-like icons. Those shown on the page are in PNG format, and shown in two sizes - making the need for a scalable version immediately clear.

It would be great if you could adapt and adopt these icons in your font!
