Use a Fork from Original Repo for Persian-HIG

I'm thankful that you forked Persian-HIG repo under P-C org, but I would like to ask you to fork the original rather than forking your own user fork. This applies to some other repositories on that page from other users, but I leave the decision for the rest of them to you.

Clarification about License of Archival Material

I suggest removing the footer for CC for any page linking to archival material and adding a note about the ownership. Legally speaking, we need to ask permission to reproduce most of these stuff, but if we make the clear distinction on where CC ends and copyrighted stuff starts, then we could benefit from fair use rules (although with large verbatim reproduction we are going to fail test 3).

The bottom line is as long as the curators and maintainers of this archive are very clear about the intent and scope, then it is okay until someone complains.

I can own this effort if we are in agreement.

Need to Clarify Credits for the Logo

We need to add some credits for the logo designer. I could do that myself and send a PR if I know what are your preferences. My suggestions are:

  • a dedicated page about the background of the logo and credits for it;
  • a one-liner on the footer crediting the designer and linking to the page above;
  • a one-liner in the license section of the github repo.

Please let me know what you think.

Persian subtitles in YouTube

I just re-found the old groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/persian-computing so I repeated this question there. with apologies.

I have a question on Persian subtitles in YouTube. For my new YouTube clip which is in Farsi, I wanted to also put Farsi subtitles. The problem is the input shows correctly in the YouTube Studio editor but when I publish it, the subtitles on the actual clip are showing some Farsi letters in unicode isolated form rather than the medial, initial or final forms that they should automatically take in the middle of the word. I tried many ways. first I created a .srt format text file for English and it works perfectly - as you can see on the clip. I then tried the same with Farsi UTF-8 with and without BOM, tried direct input, etc., and none of them work. Any advice? 1/2

2/2 By the way, I'm also having the same problem in MS Word with the font Arial Unicode MS. Doesn't automatically take correct positional form. If you watch my video, the first Persian subtitle looks correct but that's because I typeset it manually in Unicode - so you can make it work but it's not automatic.
