For [TAG]/player data api version I recommend you checking this maven
After that just use static methods from PlayerDataApi.
In the readme the dependency info is wrong. "eu.pb4:sidebar-api:[TAG]" should be "eu.pb4:player-data-api:[TAG]".
For the dependencies you tell to use :
"modImplementation include("eu.pb4:sidebar-api:[TAG]")"
but it's better to use :
"modImplementation include("eu.pb4:player-data-api:[TAG]")"
And for upgrading the README add the maven url :
"https://maven.nucleoid.xyz/eu/pb4/player-data-api/"
