in den Objekten wird der Dash Button mit seiner Mac Adresse als ID angezeigt.
Da der Adapter bei mir auch noch andere Amazon Geräte als Dash erkennt (Fire TV, Kindle)
ist das ganze etwas unübersichtlich. Ich würde gern bei den einzelnen Geräten in der Spalte Name den Namen des Geräts
eintragen. Leider ist dies nicht möglich
wäre super wenn das möglich gemacht werden könnte.

One out of 4 has the MAC-range
FC:65:DE:XX:XX:XX
and is not present in the current main.js

Please add for the future :)

Ich musste bei mir aufgrund eines BOND Anschlusses den Interface nachträglich auf "ovs_bond0" legen.
Hintergrund ist der, das ich ioBroker über Docker auf einem NAS laufen habe, welches eine BOND anbindung hat.
Nach der Installation ist habe ich keinen DashButton einbinden können.
In der "main.js" ist mir aufgefallen, das an der stelle, wo im Code unten jetzt -"ovs_bond0"- steht vorher nur -""- stand.
Warunm dort nicht -"eth0"- stand, weiß ich leider nicht.

Mit der änderung geht es jetzt.

Praktisch wäre es, im Adapter ein Dropdown mit einigen gängigen Interfaces zu haben, wenn man doch mal abseits von eth0 bewegen sollte.

Currently the following 6 leading characters of an amazon-Dash MAC are missing in the list of node_modules/iobroker.amazon-dash/main.js

Es wäre gut, wenn die Ordnerpfade als Geräte erstellt würden.
Grund ist der, das man dann die Ordner passiv benennen kann und so eine bessere Übersicht über seine eingebundenen Geräte hat.

I am an automatic service from ioBroker that searches adapters and makes suggestions.

I noticed that your adapter is not integrated in the ioBroker.discovery. Using the Discovery adapter, ioBroker can automatically find devices or suggest services to the user for installation. If possible I would live to see your adapter added there.

Some adapters have already been added and you can use them as blueprints. See: https://github.com/ioBroker/ioBroker.discovery You need to fork this project and then create a PR for your adapter to be added.

Basically the plugins can do HTTP calls, UDP discovery, MDNS, UPNP and will iterate over all devices found by IP scan and check local serial ports. If you want you can also add new discovery methods but please try to do that with at least dependencies as possible.

Then create one file under lib/adapters for your adapter to implement the detection and proposal of an instance to the user.

On questions, the other developers will support in the forum or via GitHub issues too.

If no detection is possible, simply close this issue and I won't bother you again. ;-)

The pcap lib needs to be installed before

Hi,

unfortunately after switching from Raspberry to Orange Pi running Armbian, the Amazon Dash Button Adapter in ioBroker ist no longer functioning properly. Status stays red and does not change to green. libpcap-dev has been installed, removed and then installed again but no change unfortunately. Log below, is this a know issue?

Habe heute eine Bestellung mit 4 Dash Button bekommen. 2 Davon werden erkannt, 2 nicht.
MACs: fc:65:de:b8:98:0a und fc:65:de:7a:74:bd
Müssen diese MACs noch irgendwo hinzugefügt werden?

I have 3 dash buttons here.
The MAC of two of them start with the same numbers/letters combination.
Like xx:yy:zz:11:22 and xx:yy:zz:33:44

Now, when setting up new instances in iobroker I am just required to enter the first 3 pairs of the mac adress.
What now? Since the first 3 pairs are not unique I'll probably have some problems here

I just tried installing the dash button adapter but it failed. The Log says that there is probably a problem with pcap, but the installed version is the latest one.

kann man die Config wie folgt erweitern:
[ ] Benutze vordefinierte MAC-Zweige
Und die MAC´s die man hinzufügt vollqualifizierbar machen:
Im MAC-Array: ergänzen um 12:34:56:XX:XX:XX
bei der suche die gefundene Mac abschneiden und mit "XX:XX:XX" ergänzen
aber zuerst nach vollqualifizierter suchen.

Hey, not an issue, but it could be useful for others whom want to use the adapter with newer Version of iobroker which do not run as "root" anymore.

You´ll need to set permissions to nodejs to run libpcap without root permissions.

in my case nodejs was installed in /usr/bin/node
so the command to use was:

setcap cap_net_raw,cap_net_admin=eip /usr/bin/node

Maybe you´ll put it in the help section of the Adapter.

re-installing the adapter (v. 0.3.1) does not bring any advantage...

Reviewing the logs of the last days, the previous node version was v8.15.1 .... with this version, everything was working well. (see upgraded packages, nodejs was one of the upgraded ones...)

When I enable a VPN Server on my Synology, then the Adapter stops working.
I reinstalled the adapter and restarted io Broker but it didn't help.

GPL license has strong copyleft effect, that means, every module in the whole software must be then GPL.
Theoretically even iobroker.js-controller.
If no other dependency uses GPL, could you change the license from GPL to LGPLv3?

It is the same as GPL, but it allows to use module in other software.

Dear Adapter developer,

with js-controller 3.2 and js-controller 3.3 some additional checks were added to make sure that created objects match to the specifications and also written state values match to the object definition.

If something is not correct this is logged as 'warning' or 'info' log.

Please take the time to verify your adapter by ideally starting with a fresh instance and do some actions and verify the log. If you see a warn log there from these checks please adjust the adapter and fix the relevant cases.

Additionally we are preparing Admin 5 which will have a completely rewritten UI. Please install Admin 5, activate that new UI and verify that the configuration of you adapter works as expected also there.

Hi, I have just ported my ioBroker from Raspberry to Nuc and the dashbutton adapter is the only one that fails. The reason is that I cannot install libpcap. The istallation is in Debian LCX Docker on Proxmox. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi .. ich hab den Adapter schon lange nicht mehr verwendet .. alle Objekte gelöscht .. Adapter neu gestartet .. grün. Knopf gedrückt .. Objekt wird generiert .. aber eben nur das Device .. keine states.

Außerdem fällt mir auf, dass andere Geräte (MAC-IDs) auftauchen .. teils auch mit States .. die aber gar nicht in der MAC-ID-Liste eingetragen sind (da steht nur mein einer Dash-Button).

Weiß grad nicht weiter.
