Open positions

Should/can we advertise open positions on this website? If yes, where? As a simple news item (easy and accessible) or in a separate category like "career" (will have to include that) or so?

Hi there, I found some papers which are listed as unpublished, but which now have a DOI. Please check the list below and mark the ones which are correct. Add the label 'food for arxivbot' when you are done and I will take care of the rest. Here we go:

DOI Link in references does not work

Something gets mangled in the way the final link is composed. E.g. the link for the Emmett, Minion 2012 paper continues to dx.doi.org but with a ERROR: DOI not found and a link 10/undefined.

Moving 5th workshop entries to _events_past leads to error

If the entries for the 5th workshop are moved from _events_upcoming to _events_past leads to error

Liquid Exception: comparison of NilClass with String failed in _includes/asides/event_subnav.html, included in _layouts/page_event.html
jekyll 3.1.1 | Error: comparison of NilClass with String failed

when running jekyll build.

The corresponding forked branch can be found here: https://github.com/danielru/parallel-in-time.github.io/tree/add/post_workshop_news

Layout broken on event sub-pages

The changes introduced by 71d09df and 1535717 broke the layout on several pages.

  1. By omitting the divs, especially the col-* classes, on event sub-pages, the bounding box of the main content was broken on all event sub-pages.
  2. By disabling the transformation of an article's first paragraph to have a larger font, the desired layout of several pages got broken.

Link to Wiki only works in new tab

I encountered some strange behavior with the link ''You can do it yourself" in the footer: When I view the site locally, it properly redirects to the wiki. When I view the final site and open the link in a new tab, it also works fine. However, when I just click it, nothing happens.

I verified this in Firefox and Chrome on both a Windows 7 and a Mac system. With the Explorer, there is some error message that says ''Dieser Inhalt kann nicht in einem Frame angezeigt werden'' (cannot show this content in a frame) and it offers a link to open the site in a new frame (guess thats Microsoft for Tab), which works fine.

shrink navbar to less entries

The high number of navbar entries account for broken layout on some screen sizes. We should come up with another grouping.

Updated references now showing on website

For some reason, the updates from the last PR are not visible on the website although the files in the source branch have changed:

E.g. in the MLSDC paper, the source file correctly shows BIT Numerical Mathematics as journal while the website still shows arxiv.

This is not merely a caching issue, I tried it from different computers with different browsers.

Track traffic

We should include something like google analytics to monitor traffic on parallelintime.org.

add instructions in wiki for fetching/merging upstream information

instructions in wiki are reasonable for new users to fork and add new information. However, lacking instructions on how they can come back and make edits in the future. Maybe the correct process is to restart the entire procedure (create new fork, clone, etc). My preferred workflow is to merge from upstream. Is it worth having documentation on that?
