Following is what you need for this book: Whether you're completely new to Blender, or an animation veteran enticed by Blender's newest features, this book will have something for you.

Blender's capabilities vary greatly depending on the quality of your computer hardware. As a general rule, the challenges you can throw at Blender on your computer will be close to the quality of computer game that your computer can run. If you are on a low end machine, it is recommended that you lower polygon counts, render samples, and texture sizes if you feel like your computer can't handle the example files or project workflows. Information on how different computer hardware performs with Blender can be found at https://opendata.blender.org/

I'm erring on the side of generalities here, since "good computer" and "bad computer" are relative terms, and putting specific numbers re: GPUs, CPUS, RAM, etc. Plus opendata.blender.org will continue to grow with age.

With the following software and hardware list you can run all code files present in the book (Chapter 1-16).

Software and Hardware List

Chapter Software required OS required
1-16 Blender 2.83 Windows 10, 8.1, 7, macOS 10.12+, Linux

We also provide a PDF file that has color images of the screenshots/diagrams used in this book. Click here to download it.

blender-3d-by-example-second-edition's Issues

Link for PDF of the Color Images is not working.

I am working through the book I purchased from Amazon. Although the text and examples are good so far, the images are very difficult to see. To be able to look at the pictures is necessary to complete the projects and the link given here on gitHub (same address as in the book) does not work. This issue needs to be resolved.

Packt online book, missing pages?

Hello,

Not sure if this is a fault or what it is, but I am Reading this book on Subscription Packt Publishing, an there seam to be only 6 sub chapeters on the time-machine part 2. when reading the summary it seams that something is missing. There is no guide on modelling the side rails, or the clock numbers, while the summary sums up techniques we were supposed to learn about snapping numbers to the clock and spin techniques ++.
from this point in the book:
https://subscription.packtpub.com/book/game_development/9781789612561/4/ch04lvl1sec33/summary read the 6 pre-sub-Chapters.

Advanced level of modelling

While I was following the examples in the book every example and each step where in the same level of a beginner level, until it reached ch05 in modelling the chairs; the level jumped right away from beginner to expert. The steps didn't include clear idea about what should be done with the curves and cylinders to create the metal chassis.

I hope you can look further into this issue.

And thank you for your efforts in writing this great book.

Cannot download the .zip file

Hello, just bought the book and I cannot download the .zip file of the repository. It just doesn't start the downloading, just stays in the "Resuming" state. I forked it but still did not succeed. What can I do?
