Extract and Visualize Google Scholar Collaboration Networks
I have downloaded my publication records of google scholar with extractNetwork() of scholarnetwork package in R, but I have duplicate authors in the list due to different spelling. For example; J. Gimenez and J. Giménez are the same authors. How can I treat this issue for a proper visualization of my research network.
Thank you.
Joan

This relates to issue 1: while most of the multiple copies of names are now merged, names differing by how the apostrophe is expressed (O’meara [curly quote] vs O'meara [single quote]) in Scholar appear as different names.
Note I'm about to submit a pull request that fixes this.
This is a beautiful package: thanks for making it. One issue I have with my network is names not merging: I'm Brian O'Meara, and my name appears in my network (user id vpjEkQwAAAAJ) as separate nodes for BC O'Meara (twice), BC O'MEARA, B O'Meara (twice), and BC O'meara. I see a few other nodes where they're not merged. Perhaps merge based on first initial, last name, ignoring case?
Otherwise it returns the following error:
d <- extractNetwork(id="jGLKJUoAAAAJ", n=500)
Error in scholar::get_publications(id = id, pagesize = n, ...) :
unused argument (pagesize = n)
