14.1-20170912 All downloads fail

Starting with a Ubuntu Edition E4.5 I flashed Stock Android 4.4 with MTK flash_tool.
Then i flashed TWRP again with flash_tool.
Booted, restarted into TWRP and installed lineage-14.1-20170912-UNOFFICIAL-krillin via adb sideload.

Phone boots OK. However, when i go to f-droid website and try to install f-droid apk the download never starts/finishes. The download manager creates a zero-byte file in the Downloads folder, tries several times to download the file and then fails.

This happens with all downloads, not only f-droid apk. Webbrowsing works however !

Really weird issue, please help !
Cheers,
Karl

bq Aquaris 4.5 Ubuntu Touch not updating or upgrading, no Ubuntu Store

I just started using an unused bq Aquaris 4.5 Ubuntu Touch.
It will make phone calls, I can text, use the camera and the browser.
Address book works fine, file manager and terminal too.
But it is not updating or upgrading, and the Ubuntu Store stays white.
apt-get returns a lot of 404 errors.
It seems the repositories have changed.
Are there any new repositories that I can use?
I have duckducked the web for a few hours, and cannot find them.
Help please?

some recent applications cause never-ending boot loop

Installation of some applications from F-Droid repository exposes system bug.

Symptoms are:
In installation wizard, moment after pressing 'Install' button, message appears about 'Play Store' to unexpectedly end and reboot loop starts then.

Revert:
Press volume up&down at the same time to get to Safe Mode, where you can uninstall problematic applications from Settings/Applications. After reboot all works again.

Workaround:
Use some other version.

Affected applications I identified so far:
Telegram, Orgzly

14.1 mobile data not working

Hi Pablito2020

I did a fresh install on my E4.5.
First flash Android 4.4.2 (Firmware 1.5.3)
Then flash twrp
Then install lineage-14.1-20170912-UNOFFICIAL-krillin.zip
After that open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20180301.zip
Finally swipe and reboot

-- System boots and works like a charm, very stable (after 2 days of use).
But now I discovered 2 things not working: mobile data does not work (did a test installation of LineageOS13, no problem here), compass sensor does not work (that is somewhat common to this device, I guess, it is also not working on the Android 5.0 package). Compass is not a big issue, but mobile data is. Any ideas where to look?
Best Regards
Hans-Peter

Can not locate config makefile

Hello!

Thanks a lot for your work. I want to use lineageos on my krillin, but I also want to learn and help with the port. I'm new to all this, so I don't really understand what I'm doing wrong, but my brunch command is failing.

I did this:

$ mkdir -p android/system
$ cd android/system
$ repo init -u git://github.com/LineageOS/android.git -b cm-14.1
$ repo sync --force-sync
$ mkdir -p device/bq/
$ git -C device/bq clone https://github.com/Pablito2020/android_device_bq_krillin krillin
$ mkdir -p vendor/bq
$ git -C vendor/bq clone https://github.com/Pablito2020/android_vendor_bq_krillin krillin
$ . build/envsetup.sh

I'm probably doing something stupid that's obvious to somebody who has build lineage before, but I have no clue. Can you give me a hand?

build instructions are not clear

Build instructions are not clear, especially the relation between this GIT repository and rest in the description.

 * repo init -u git://github.com/LineageOS/android.git -b cm-14.1
 * repo sync --force-sync
 * . build/envsetup.sh
 * brunch lineage_krillin-userdebug

Following the howto ends with last command like this:

 $ brunch lineage_krillin-userdebug

As this is the information which is hard to find - could anyone improve it? Or provide me hint and I'll improve it myself.

[FIXED] Install lineage on Ubuntu Phone fails.

Hi mate,

was really surprised when seeing that you are working on that ROM.
Tried installing it on my Ubuntu Editions Aquaris 4.5, however when Booting, I just get "Jelly screen" with a sideline, and then it reboots (Looping).

From what I know, the Aquaris E4.5 and 4.5 Ubuntu Edition use the same hardware, reason I tried it.

Anything I can do to debug this?

Nova Launcher

Hi,
I've followed all the steps described here
#1 (comment)
and everything went smooth.

Anwy installing Nova Launcher the (Ubuntu) phone Aquaris 4.5 keeps in continue reboot :-/

Reinstalled everything btw thx for your great work!

IMEI deletion upon flash

Hi
I tried to install Lineage OS 14.1 on my BQ 4.5 ubuntu edition, but somehow the IMEI numbers gets deleted. I'm a beginner at installing custom ROMs so I'm not sure where in the process I may do it wrong.

I flashed stock 4.4 kitkat via the SP_flashtool.
Installed TWRP as a custom recovery
booted into recovery and wiped system, cache, data and dalvik
installed lineage-14.1-20170912-UNOFFICIAL-krillin.zip and Open-Gapps-nano

When I reboot the IMEI numbers are empty and the SIM won't register.

From what I found on the net, the information should reside on some efs partition that I should have backed up, except there is no efs partition.

I found how I could reset them using MTK Engineering mode app in the stock ROM, but thats not in the Lineage OS ROM.

Any tips/ideas where I may do it wrong?

mobile internet

Is there a chance for mobile internet to be fixed or to get it fixed? I wonder, because it has been working in previous versions. Besides that this rom is running brillantly on my phone. Thanks for all you work!

[FIXED] IMEI lost after installing lineage-13.0-20170521-UNOFFICIAL-krillin.zip

Hey Pablito,

first of all great work! Lineage 13 works nearly as expected. Unfortunately my IMEIs are gone after flashing. I didn't erase the NVRAM. After reflashing the stock ROM everything is working fine without doing anything.

The known apps for changing the IMEI like 'MTK Engineering Mode' are not working. It says my device has no Mediatek chip.

Do you have any idea what I can do?

Aquaris E4.5 - Full Compilation guide

Do we really need to do

repo init -u git://github.com/LineageOS/android.git -b cm-14.1
to build LineageOS 14.1 just for updates for the bq E4.5?

I am now downloading since a long time, my line speed is about 16Mbit, and this how-to* for the bq Aquaris U Plus is showing something about 100 GB free space on the harddisk ?

Isn't there a more easy way?

I know, it's your private time to take care about kernel updates, device updates etc. on for exp. github.

But isn't it "maybe" possible for you to offer updates via the internal update function for your LineageOS 13/14?
