Sorry to react lately.
i don't undestand fully what you meant by the google icons for direction to 
follow,
direction picture was taken.
Can you tell me where (url) they can be seen ?

Just to let you know that I created more traffic related icons here : speed 
limits,

I think he means the normal Google pins are not very good for showing 
direction, and
that's not an understatement...  How about 8 more icons to show every 45degree 
angle?

Here are the 16 directions in a .PSD.  Could you please finish and post them

Maybe you need to adjust the tails a little bit, I don't know, you decide.

Thanks Matthias, that is great.

I added the 16 directions in the Transportation category.

Also, added the 8 directions for "direction picture was taken" in Media 
category.
