esbuild has now released esbuild@"0.17.7". which is two versions later.

Also from the plugin code I see it would work also with 0.16 and 0.17 so I would suggest to be a bit less strict in the version check.

The point of having a linter in the build chain is usually to keep the code clean, and avoid introducing new issues in pull request. For that, the plugin should fail the build if it finds any linter errors. You can do it like this:

            if (output.length > 0) {    
                console.log(output); // eslint-disable no-console    
                return {    
                    errors: [{ pluginName: 'stylelint', text: 'stylelint errors found' }]    
                };    
            }    
            return null;    

If you care, you can of course also make this configurable, to raise warnings: instead.
