Feature: Add basic usage instructions to README
the in-line code embeded in the page is not hightlight as expected, can we improve?
I love the minimal theme and have used it for a few different purposes. Last month I noticed, however, that one of my sites https://critcatdigipres.github.io/ has stopped formatting correctly whilst others (e.g. https://cataloguelegacies.github.io/) are fine. I tried rolling back some recent edits to no avail, so I'm wondering if this is a common issue with a quick fix (brief comparison of the two sites isn't showing any obvious differences).
Thanks for your help!
Demo at http://orderedlist.com/minimal/ doesn't format math in "Math is hard, let's go shopping". Should it? Or is it just an illustration to show that you don't need to escape these symbols to use them intact?
I would like to use fontawesome icons on my github pages. Is there a way to include them?
Hello,
Based on the demo site, the header links (such as "download" and "view on github") are hidden when the screen width is 480px or less. Here is the offending line: https://github.com/orderedlist/minimal/blob/master/stylesheets/styles.css#L276
Since the answer isn't to simply display the links, I thought to inform you about this, instead of issuing a pull request. Thanks for publishing a great theme for developers to use!

While this perfectly displays on horizontal screens like PC's/laptops or tablets in horizontal orientation...
it kinda breaks if viewing in vertical orientation on a tablet.
(Interestingly, on my smartphone it displays fine in vertical mode)
Not that it isn't working anymore. But the styled, horizontally displayed table in the header isn't displayed beneath the headline and description anymore. It gets displayed next to them on the right.
I would like to see it displayed at the same position than in vertical orientation (under headline+description).
At best it might be centered, too! Since it's kind of a menu with key links/options.
Same might be best for all header actually, not sure.
While I really like this theme, I've found the text very difficult to read. I know that legibility/readability is a subjective thing, but I'm finding myself straining and leaning forward in my chair so that I can actually see the text.
Here's two screen shots that show the text being difficult to read - for me, at least, on the couple monitors I have available to view it on - in Chrome:
This probably isn't the right place to ask, but I'm hoping you can at least point me in the right direction: how do you customise the sidebar that is generated when you use the minimal theme with github pages?
Resize the window vertically to see the issue.
Hi,
how can I add my social profile by using orderedlist/minimal
. Can I do it without installing Jekyll on the local? how to cusomize _config.yml
?
Thanks
currently [Demo the Theme](http://orderedlist.github.com/minimal/)
replace with [Demo the Theme](http://orderedlist.github.io/minimal/)
I have changed the font to Noto Sans
and updated some margins and line-heights in order to improve the readability. The demo of your design with the slight modifications can be seen here: http://bluejamesbond.github.io/ExcelQuery/
If you feel that those modifications are helpful, I can make a pull request with the changes.
Thank you very much for the clean design!
When you click on the link 'Demo the Theme' in the README.md you get a 'Page not found' message.
Perhaps I'm just a markdown noob but I can't figure out how to get linked markdown files to render with the theme.
index.md
other.md
# index.md
[other](./other.md)
Index.md renders file but other is un-themed.
Just a suggestion! ;)
Hi, I really like the theme and would like to use it, but I don't know how to edit the content in Markdown with it (working directly with HTML is a bit painful). After I created the GitHub page using the generator it just generated the HTML, not the Markdown. I see that you provide the .md source on the demo page, so I assume you do generate it from Markdown. Is there some easy way to integrate this theme with Jekyll or Octopress? Couldn't find anything online.
the link in the top of the README file is linking a page that apparently does not exist anymore...
It would be good for the Theme by orderedlist
link on pages using this theme to link directly to https://github.com/orderedlist/minimal rather than just https://github.com/orderedlist
Hovering over hyperlinks is distorting the texts after it.
Hi,
Is it possible to use the minimal template in WordPress? I love it, but I'm not very good at GitHub.
Thanks.
the first heading at http://www.learn-pandoc.tk shows the issue.
The problematic code is the following:
code, pre {
font-size:12px;
}
Would it be possible that both code
and pre
didn’t have a fixed font size?
Otherwise, code in headings looks weird. Even in running text, it looks suboptimal (x-height should be the same).
Many thanks for your help.
Your theme has been listed on http://jekyllthemes.ru/
I've just noticed that the output generated by this theme don't add the anchor links of markdown content like on GitHub itself. Unfortunately, this causes that anchor links like #releases won't work on the static site.
So, is this a missing feature of this theme only or a overall thing? Or is this limited by GitHub?

Consider this page and look at the link with text in the first paragraph of the page with GitHub’s Large File Support
. Hover over the GitHub's
text at the end of the second to last line of the paragraph.
Without hovering, this text has a line break after GitHub's
. With hovering, the bold font the theme creates when hovering causes the link text to move down a whole line out from under the pointer entirely.
In safari, this creates a quick oscillation of the text (normal->bold->normal) and then the pointer is unable to click. In Chrome, the text goes bold and expands to the next line and the pointer indicates it is still clickable but clicking has no effect.
Is is possible to make the side bar scrollable, or add a scrollable text inside the side bar? I would like to add an index to the sidebar, but when the index is too large the text is cut unless the view is zoom out.
Look forward your feed back.
The username in the footer paragraph "This project is maintained by {USERNAME}" appears bold on hover. However, depending on the length of the username, these few extra pixels might make the username become too big and cause a line-break. Here is an example which might not work in every browser (since this is pixel work), therefore I attached a demonstration.
