demos's Issues

Remove references to channels

Channels are not used in this demo anymore but there are references in README.md to channels.

I just removed some small part with #40 but there's more. Also need to retake the screenshot of Kiali.

Update references to internal registry

Currently we use docker-registry.default.svc:5000/myproject/dumpy:latest
as well as image-registry.openshift-image-registry.svc:5000/myproject/dumpy:latest in the demo. This may change to image-registry.openshift-image-registry.svc:443 as noted in
openshift/cluster-image-registry-operator#259

Pending that merge we'll need to check and change that service hostname/port accordingly.

Typo in README: alyway

Now, the serverless promise is to alyway only need what is necessary to serve the traffic to our application.

Typo?

K8s scheduler running out of available CPU after traffic splitting

After deploying the fixed service and applying the 50/50 traffic split in the kubecon demo, I see it taking a while for v2 pods to come up and the following messages when describing one of the Pending pods:

Warning FailedScheduling 13s (x5 over 26s) default-scheduler 0/1 nodes are available: 1 Insufficient cpu.

It looks like the deployed Knative Service is requesting 435m of CPU - we should either lower this request or raise the CPU count we assign to minishift during setup.

The v2 pods do eventually come up, once enough of the v1 pods terminate, but we're right at the edge of things not working at all due to insufficient CPU.
