1. download futty + place it to some folder
2. pin futty to the taskbar + start menu
3. add a new session config + save
4. open session
5. no jump list :(

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

URL Highlighting is one character off the the left

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open up irssi
2. Go to a channel with special characters in the topic
3. Underlining hyperlinks will not work properly

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I have a channel that has a topic like this: "JEE LAN MODE CONFIRMED!!! |
( `ー´) ♥". That causes the all the links to be one character off
to the left so the last letter is not parsed with URL. Irssi is also using
UTF-8.

ctrl/shift + arrow gives the same sequence in an xterm terminal (alt is

Theres a patched putty that does this that can be found here:

Command line option -load doesn't work

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a Windows shortcut to launch a session using the -load option
2. Double-click the shortcut

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expect that Futty will launch the name profile, as putty does. Instead, it just
shows the session list.

Please provide any additional information below.

I have a handful of shortcuts that have always worked well with putty. I then
changed those to use futty instead and left the command line the same, and it
does not launch the session, it shows the session list instead as though the
-load option was not specified.

New Session only added to Jumplist if startet via Doubleclick

Great project, exactly what I was looking for, Win 7 jumplist support &
Cygterm!

Just a small glitch: Looks like new sessions are only added to the jumplist if
they are started via doubleclick from the session list on the main
configuration pane. If you use the load/open buttons instead, no entry in the
JL is created. Took me some time to figure that out.

Improve the "sessions from file" feature

I just realize that Futty has a nice feature (I think inherited from PuTTY
Tray), to save sessions to file instead of using the Registry.

I have some suggestions for improving this:

1. allow to move multiple sessions from registry to files (and back)

Currently this can be done one session at a time, with the following steps
- load session from registry
- switch to "from file"
- save session
- switch to "from registry"
- delete session

A bit cumbersome

2. provide an option to specify where to save the session files (currently they
are put in <putty dir>\sessions

3. Allow user to define one mode or the other as the default when opening a new
session

Thanks in advance

KiTTY-style send with pscp / start winscp context menu

KiTTY provides some rather useful shortcuts to send a file with pscp or start a
winscp session to the currently connected host within the context menu.

It also allows drag and drop of a file onto the terminal window to send via
pscp.

This would be a very nice couple of features to see in futty!

Allow to set log file using command line -log

I intend to use FuTTY with MTPuTTY, which can create virtuals sessions on one
real PuTTY session, containing for exemple default settings (font, size, ..),
but I'd like to set the log file individually for each session using arguments.
KiTTY is able to do that (and it seems to be the only one :( ) but it is a bit
too much in feature for me.

Could you implement a -log command line option that allow to override the log
file ?

Ex: FuTTY-2012-06-22.exe -load "!Défaut" -log myserver.log my.server.net

half of the monitor when using 1080p resolution or higher.

MS VC++ 2010 is the only supported compiler.

It would be nice if at least Cygwin/MingW were supported, and have all the same
features you get when it's compiled with VC++.
Also, it would be nice if the "unix" and "macosx" variants worked too.

Probably, a lot of code could be #ifdef'd so it only works on VC++, but allows
the rest to compile with reduced features.

Note: The build scripts are very out of sync.. Only the *.sln and related
files are kept in a working state.

Printing to Windows clipboard

I'd like to reintegrate this patch into FuTTY, but I don't like how all that
Windows specific code is in terminal.c, it should be in windows/winprint.c
instead I think. And the need for the printclip int can/should be eliminated (I
think).

http://ericmason.net/2010/04/putty-ssh-windows-clipboard-integration/
http://ericmason.net/putty/putty-0.60-clip.patch

Attached is a better copy of the patch (it applies to the old 0.61 version of
FuTTY)..

BTW, you can still get what you want to the clipboard, just tell PuTTY to
"Clear Scrollback", and then cat whatever big file you want, and then "Copy All
to Clipboard".

Double-click on session window minimized on tray will leak mouse up event to next icon

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Minimize an existing session to the tray
2. Make sure the icon on the tray to the right (which will take this session's
place once it's restored) is one that responds to left-click events
3. Double click the session icon on the tray

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The session should be restored and the icon removed from the system tray, with
no side effects.
Instead, the icon that will end up in the place of the one that is removed

"Saved Sessions" doesn't work!

In an active session, the Saved Sessions menu command won't open the session
selected. It only open the configuration window, just like run futty without
any parameters.

If attach futty to the start menu of windows 7, there will be a little triangle
on the right side of that item. Shortly after moving mouse on the futty item, a
list of recent sessions will appeared. But whatever sessions you click, it
always open the configuration window.

Does FuTTY need an installer?

Does FuTTY need an installer?

Right now the only executable I compile and publish is putty.exe (renamed to
FuTTY-XXXX-XX-XX.exe)
I could also compile/publish the other PuTTY related executables..
(puttytel.exe, pageant.exe, puttygen.exe, pscp.exe, psftp.exe, plink.exe)
..although the differences from their official versions are almost
insignificant.

And if an installer is used, which installer should be used?

Everyone is welcome to respond to this "issue".

IP ToS only works on Windows XP/2003

Figure out why setting the IP ToS works on Windows XP/2003 but not on Windows
Vista/7. (At least in my testing)

Windows XP/2003 requires you to add a registry setting to enable it, does
Vista/7 have something similar you have to change?

Or, is the code wrong? =/

IPv6 : logfile using &H are not created because of ":" char.

Character ":" is not supported under Windows for filename. Thus, session
connecting to a IPv6 (2012:245::1 for eg.) host with log files created using &H
in the filename scheme cannot be created and the session is not logged.

This problem is not specific to FuTTY sadly :(

Background incompletely drawn on Cygterm Startup

On initial startup of a cygterm, the background picture (or solid color) is
only incompletely drawn, just the part under the current command line.

After dragging or resizing the terminal window (or outputting more lines in the

Other sessions (ssh to "real" hosts) are not affected.

Mouse wheel events not propagated

1. Connect to a server
2. Run application with mouse wheel support (I used vim but mc and other apps
should work)
3. Ensure that mouse support is on (ex. in vim enter ":set mouse=a")
4. If using vim: Open a file larger than 1 screen
5. If using vim: Use mouse wheel to scroll the text

The document/application should be scrolled (like if you pressed pgUp/pgDn).
Instead the whole terminal buffer is scrolled (like if you scrolled the
windows's scrollbar).
If you do this with CTRL on then font is resized (what if I wanted to scroll
with Ctrl flag set on?).

Ability to save the current window position to the session.

The "reconnect" code re-uses the current window position when reconnecting.
It could easily be extended to make saving the positions to the session
possible.
We need configurable options for X and Y position, as well as an enable/disable
option.

Also, if the X/Y positions are off-screen, will the window be hidden? If so,
make it check to make sure that doesn't happen.
