rscb's Issues

Search metadata

Update search functionality to find directories and tables based on metadata.

  • Update caching function to also store metadata (result from scb_list() query to table rather than directory)
    • Create un-nesting function to split metadata out into variable, value, elimination, etc. columns
  • Update search to be able to target presence of specific variables, timeframes, etc.

More intuitive querying with codes

Create some way for the user to easily find out which codes are present in the table and what values they can take when using scb_query.

Likely to involve an improved cache storing codes.

Clean up data returned from scb_query

  • Avoid need for readr if possible - try to minimise number of imports
  • Attempt to convert to long format when data appears wide
  • Either solve cause for or suppress warnings

Create custom unlisting function

Custom unlisting function needed in interpret_table_metadata() in utils.R, to avoid reliance on data.table being attached. Would prefer to not modify the environment by attaching a package, and we should be able to make do without data.table for the rest of the functionality without any significant performance loss.
