Hey. The texture packer should work exactly as you described right now. Frame information is not removed from the json file. If this is not the case, could you give me an example of an error?

For example this short animation test_anim.zip. It has three identical frames lapks00_f00.png, lapks00_f01.png and lapks00_f02.png.
With Detect identical option enabled Free Texture Packer v0.4.8 produces JSON file with sprite lapks00_f00.png appeared three times with the same file name. And it does not contain lapks00_f01.png and lapks00_f02.png at all.
So I can't make file name increment based animation in code lapks%2d_f%2d.png
Expected behavior: Resulting JSON file contains all sprites. Texture Packer Pro do this by default, I attached it's files too for comparison (see test_anim.zip).
