Beacon is made out of frustration from the existing analytics tools in the market, currently either analytics tools are way a too clunky and slow or lighweight with a bad user experience as well as the interface. Beacon is simple yet delightful, super fast and privacy respecting.

FAQs

Why would I use it over google analytics? Well, there are several reasons, firstly it just sucks in terms of privacy and speed. GA collects Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and uses cookies, so clearly, if you do not have ToS and Privacy Policy in your website and you are using GA, you are using it illegaly, but whereas Beacon on the other hand, is completely GDPR and CCPA compliant. Secondly, GA is terrible for your users. The script which you embed in your script while using GA is *>44KBs*, whereas the script which you embed in your website while using Beacon is just *<1.5KBs*.

Update the Discord invite link

Description:

After clicking on the community link in the navbar of Beacon's website, it redirects to the discord invite. But Discord says that the invite is invalid.

Possible solution:

  • Update the invite link

Don't create dashboard automatically

Current Behaviour - the dashboard is automatically created when the user embeds the script, but this opens the door for abuse and easy way for spammers to spam.

Desired Behavior - manually create the website in the dashboard and don't ask anything in script. No configuration must be necessary, it shall be optional.

Unexpected error while joining the waiting list

Description:

There is an unexpected error while joining the waiting list. Even after giving a unique email address it still says you are already on the waiting list.

Possible solution:

  • Improvement in the database search query
