Package Wizard

semantic-release: angular License: MIT

This package allows you to quickly generate a new package from an existing template. You can generate a new package by using either the PackageWizard.New method, or the Package Manager window dropdown menu item Add new package. Based on hibzzgames's PackageCreator.

The package template is contained in the Template~ directory, and can be customized/extended. All files in the template directory should have the .template extension appended (e.g. package.json.template). The Package Wizard will replace this predefined set of variables in the directory names, file names, and file text content:

Variables Usage Example
$PACKAGE The package name com.organization.<name>
$ORGANIZATION The organization name com.<organization>.name
$DISPLAY_NAME Package display name Package Wizard
$ASSEMBLY Prefix for assembly definitions <AssemblyPrefix>.Runtime

The default Template~ configuration includes a GitHub Actions workflow for automatically updating the semantic version and change log, then publishing a new release upon changes.

πŸͺ› Installation

As the end-user, you can customize the contents of the Template~ folder as necessary to fit your desired package layout and naming conventions. To make sure the package contents are modifiable, you should either download this repository as a .zip file and manually add it to your project, or fork the repository and create your own version of Package Wizard.

Install manually
  • Download the upm branch of this repository as a .zip file and extract it
  • Open Window/Package Manager
  • Click +
  • Add package from disk
  • Select package.json in the extracted folder

Note that you won't be able to receive updates through Package Manager this way, you'll have to update manually.

com.nmacadam.package-wizard's Issues

The automated release is failing 🚨

🚨 The automated release from the main branch failed. 🚨

I recommend you give this issue a high priority, so other packages depending on you can benefit from your bug fixes and new features again.

You can find below the list of errors reported by semantic-release. Each one of them has to be resolved in order to automatically publish your package. I’m sure you can fix this πŸ’ͺ.

Errors are usually caused by a misconfiguration or an authentication problem. With each error reported below you will find explanation and guidance to help you to resolve it.

Once all the errors are resolved, semantic-release will release your package the next time you push a commit to the main branch. You can also manually restart the failed CI job that runs semantic-release.

If you are not sure how to resolve this, here are some links that can help you:

If those don’t help, or if this issue is reporting something you think isn’t right, you can always ask the humans behind semantic-release.

No npm token specified.

An npm token must be created and set in the NPM_TOKEN environment variable on your CI environment.

Please make sure to create an npm token and to set it in the NPM_TOKEN environment variable on your CI environment. The token must allow to publish to the registry https://registry.npmjs.org/.

Good luck with your project ✨
