Whenever I try to start the build, it shows an error and can't start anymore.

Probably not non-developers, because realistically the kids “learning to program” aren’t, and definitely won’t be able to for two to five years.

I posted it on reddit and the elementary founder has starred the project, this bug tracks when I stop treating this like a personal project.

How do I document this project to the point it isn’t a code dump?

there should be an uninstall target in the makefile

at this point I could probably get away with just a shell script using egrep.

seems foolish because a) I don’t want to break people’s shit and b) your project is a screaming infant and you’re supposed to look after it, this bug is open and staying open to show I’m open to debate the point provided it can be made idiot-proof and non-fragile.
